JULY 2012 DO THE TON BIKE OF THE MONTH - VOTING

I have been going through this for the last few years in another forum. It is rough. It gets to the point sometimes where I am still stuck. So, I ask my 9 year old daughter to choose, select the radio button and then hit the submit button. what is interesting is that the one she picks, wins.

    83 XV920 - yeah it's a virago, but not for long

I hope a Virago shows up in my future. I love the natural swoosh look of them when they are cafe'd. It would need to have those swoosh type rims too. I think XJ maybe?

Neck pain after a long ride...

Many of the long distance cruisers will have a spinal relief cut out of the pad. I have had that done to my big cruiser along with some other stuff and it is now an 8+ hour seat. I am not saying the spinal relief will give that much but it will help. The idea is that it will take the pressure...

    lowering my cb 550

If you are going to do it I will give you an idea what I did. In the rear, shorty shocks and a 16" rim. The stock 18" hit the fender and it did not look good to me. I also had new swingarm bushings put in by HondaMan at SOHC4. If your swingarm moves from side to side, have it done because it...

    lowering my cb 550

If you are racing the bike, yes you are right but it is not dangerous. If purpose built and to cruise on, no worries.

    lowering my cb 550

Nothing wrong with it. It is going to take more than just short shocks to lower it for someone 5 ft. It would be much simpler to do it with a bike with a much lower seat height. My wife is 5'4" and I lowered her 750 by about 3" in the suspension and about 2 1/2" in the seat. With thick...

Neck pain after a long ride...

It is that small guy on the big bike again. :) jk Anyway, it might be because of the long ride. Did you play hard on the bike? Were you finding yourself holding tight on the bars? Is there a fork brace on there, I cannot see it? I find on a good long ride where I played a bit, my...

KZ200 - Simple little one lunger

Re: I know it's a KZ200, but it was FREE... I am not seeing anything wrong with your choice. There is a CB125 on here somewhere. It may have been a better idea to see if it runs and how it runs before you took it out. Coulda saved you a few bucks on tearing it down.

Does this seat look silly on my bike???

The back does look a tad wide but it may be because it is white. When you sit on it, it may not be noticeable as I am sure your backside is wider that the seat. It kind of looks a tad long to me but then the wheel is not on it to see how it will work out. Just my two cents worth.

    Custom CB750 Oil Tank

Don't know if you have seen these and do not know how bolt-up they are. You may have to figure out the mounting part. http://www.cyclexchange.net/Oil%20System%20Comp%20Page.htm

    Custom CB750 Oil Tank

Good luck on that one! You will mostly find the round oil tanks. The nice hidden ones that help clear the triangle are usually one off's that someone has had made and provided specs for. Read somewhere of one made by Benji that leaked really bad. According to what I read in that same thread...

    Rotella T + Other question.

I use Rotella now in bikes. Affordable and is liked in many forums for many types of bikes. On the oil level thing, you probably overfilled it. I know, you read the manual and it said... Well, the manual is probably right in the amount of oil that the system holds but when you change the...
