CB 200 strange noise problem / new head gasket sweating (vid included)

So I checked the cam, the cam chain, the clutch, ... everything seems to be in order. I made another vid to show the noise a little better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ6eEbV70f4 It's not that loud (camera phone makes it sound alot louder). Actually it sounds a bit familiar. I think it...

CB 200 strange noise problem / new head gasket sweating (vid included)

Will do! If it's not the cam chain starter motor clutch sounds like a possibility. It actually sounds alot like the (starter motor) clutch to me. Never touched that thing during the rebuild though. I'll also check the other clutch. Maybe I didn't give that one enough slack and it catches when...

CB 200 strange noise problem / new head gasket sweating (vid included)

The cam is properly aligned. I'm positive of that. Installed it yesterday, manual in hand. Also the valves do not touch the pistons etc as far as I know. Wouldn't it make that noise every time the engine ran if it was that? Engine turns flawlessly by hand. And now the carbs are tuned it can just...

CB 200 strange noise problem / new head gasket sweating (vid included)

Hi, two questions for you guys! 1. I just did a complete rebuild of me cb200. Got it running today but when it stalled it made a loud click. I've uploaded a video to show you guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dm8NahIOnCY&feature=g-upl I should also say it didn't always make that sound. And...

Aight, thanks man!

CB 200 carb tuning? + Gasket quality?

Did some googlin' and found out I should probably go with OEM gaskets, but one more question before I slam the head on there again: do I need to do anything to prepare the head gasket? Gease up the non metal part? Or should I just put it on there?

CB 200 carb tuning? + Gasket quality?

Hey thanks man! I got the carbs tuned more or less but that'll help me further! New problem however: still had an oil leak at the head so I got it resurfaced. And now I'm wondering what gaskets to get. Are these...

CB 200 carb tuning? + Gasket quality?

Re: CB 200 carb tuning? + What oil? Het zijn 20mm keihin replica's. Chinese goedkope stuff. Maar ik zit op een studentenbudget dus moet het goedkoop houden. Werken doen ze tot nutoe wel ;). Heb ze hier gekocht: http://www.mini-bikes.be/index.php?page=webshop&p=webshop Vergeet er wel niet de...

CB 200 carb tuning? + Gasket quality?

Re: CB 200 carb tuning? + What oil? Allright thanks man! Should I change the oil as fast as possible then? Or is it ok if I leave the semi synth in to tune the carbs? (All gaskets have been replaced). Oh and, any tips on how to check the carbs for air leaks? Seems to be running pretty steadily...

CB 200 carb tuning? + Gasket quality?

Hi, Recently my cb200 cylinder head gaskets started to leak. Figured it was time for a complete revision (after 25000 km). So I took the entire engine apart, changed all the worn parts and put it back together. I also changed the carbs to some cheap but ok 20mm ones. The stock 18mm carbs were...

    Should I replace my pistons?

I'm using twin air foam filters. They should be about the same quality as K&N. Any tips on cleaning foam filters? I guess it's about the same but compressed air probably can't do as much damage on them? Might look into getting some K&N's though!

    Should I replace my pistons?

Actually it was ran with real filthy stock filters and then with some cheap sport filters. Once I bought the bike i replaced those with quality foam filters. Thanks for the tips! I'll make sure I don't get it honed too much and always use good filters.

    Should I replace my pistons?

Allright much appreciated guys! I think I'll take it to an engine shop to get it honed. Reading this I'm thinking getting the cilinder honed and cleaning up the pistons + new rings might do the trick. Thanks!

    Should I replace my pistons?

Hi, I'm working on my cb200 and had another question. Last week I opened up the entire engine. It ran ok but most of the gaskets were leaking so it seemed like a great time for the complete check up. Without thinking too much I just ordered a set of piston rings (but not pistons). After removing...

    cl175 carbs on a cb200?

Thanks for the reply's guys! I took the stock carbs apart last summer to clean em up. Changed every gasket, new floats and needles, ... They keep leaking fuel though, I'm thinking the corrosion just deformed the edges too much so the gaskets can't really do their job. Plus i noticed the rubber...

    cl175 carbs on a cb200?

My cb200's carbs gave their last breath the other day. So I'm looking into getting some new ones. My cb 200 engine was dead stock with the 18mm carbs. Would it be possible to mount cl175 carbs (with the cl175 inlet manifold) on a stock cb200? If so could someone give me some advice on jetting...

    CL175 - first build

Re: CL175 - first time noob! I really like the look of it. Should be an awesome bike with a little work! Setup from another bike: cb200 should work indeed, they're basically the same bikes plus you can go with the "disk" brake!

    My CB200

Allright, the engine work is just about done. I took the cb 200 out for three long rides last week and the big problems are all solved. The clutch issue was resolved by putting what I can ony describe as washers behind the springs so they press everything together a bit better. Clutch is fine...
