WTB: Stock 1980 kz250 ltd seat or pan

Hey all, I'm trying to find a stock '80 kz250 ltd seat or pan to reshape and upholster. Condition of pan is much more important than the material on it. Didn't find anything on cl or ebay. I'm out of Philadelphia, PA. Any clues as to where to find one are also greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Who ya voting tonight?

Is this getting into the "hollywood is the modern day Roman Coliseum" thing? If so, I must agree, TV has gotten much more shock-value oriented in the last decades. Distract the mob, with snookies.

    Odometer question

Wow, very impressive. I may just scrap my current gauges for one of those.

    Odometer question

Holy crap! That is insanely cool! I want to ask if it's functional/how...but I feel you may have already gotten into that in the part that I have yet to read (which I will). SO if you explained already, awesome stuff. If not, please explain if/how that thing works.

Am I going to die on a bike?

As a new rider, this thread was a good read. The "don't get comfortable" advice definitely stuck. I figure if I listen to what the old-heads say, I might make it into old-head-hood myself. Thanks to all who pitched in here.

New here and nee dyour opinion.

+1 to Weberkid Both cool bikes. If you're new to bikes (as I am too) try something small on first and see if it grabs you. I recently rode my an early 80s GS450 and loved it (much recommended, btw), which to me says that I should probably stick to smaller displacements for now. Best advice I...

mydlyf, first off, sorry to be bringing this up so much later. Secondly, is there a way to regulate the voltage to 14.4v post stator to the battery?

    Copper-plating Aluminum Bits

If it is of convenience, I wouldn't ask that you go out of your way. If done some pics of the process would be vastly appreciated.

    Painting vs. powdercoating

Cool bike, you should start a build thread on it. As per paint v. powdercoat, you can either paint of powdercoat whatever you want. Parts that would have more contact wear with the rider, and that you basically never want to show wear would be a good candidate to powdercoat, seeing as how it is...

    Copper-plating Aluminum Bits

Oh wow, and that worked on bare steel, eh? Did you try polishing the blades that were plated, and if so do you have any pics of the results? Oh, thanks for the reply btw. ;D

    Copper-plating Aluminum Bits

I have a question: Does anybody have experience using electrolysis to copper-plate aluminum? We have had success with smaller items...but it's a battle getting them coated. I'm looking for suggestions on voltage and maybe an idea of what the proportions of copper sulfate to acid should be as the...

    The 'leftovers' project - XS650

Beautiful project man. I'll definitely be following this one. The welds on that frame are phenomenal, and your choice of color is superb. I would also like to voice my support of a nickel-plated frame. ;D

Moving the ignition key...Where are you guys putting them?

I have yet to assemble mine, but my plan is to fab a battery box with an ignition switch built into it. Saw it on a brat at a local meet a bit ago and thought it was cool. This box has yet to exist for me so I have no pics...yet.
