    As long as the tank is above the carbs, and you dont have a crazy kink in your line, you should be fine.

    Yes, depending on what shims you are left with, I would think trimming some excess length off of them would work fine. However, if it is a problem with the pipes not clamping down enough, put a washer or two on the outside of the collar...you may have run out of threads and not be getting the...

    They'll fit fine. Shims were a little shorter due to the fatter lip on the pipes, where they enter the manifold. Purchasing a set that includes correct collars and shims will save you a little time/trouble. Easy swap though. Did it on my '69. Need some finish work, but I'm happy with em.
