Turns out that the speedo wasn't the prob. It did need a certain resistance from the ignition switch. New computer and hook up the ignition switch and he was able to ride the bike home Saturday

correction 70-71 took the FA12

Cb450s took 2 different calipers depending on year. the early ones took ebc pad #FA12 (71-72 I think) later ones took FA 13.

That guard would be really easy to make and rivet to the headlight ring.
