    No,sorry haven't quite figured out how to post pics.Its the nut that holds the countershaft sprocket to the main shaft.I have a feeling the previous owner crossthreaded it on.

    The countershaft nut backed off the shaft and stripped the threads off of the shaft.Is it a possibility to rethread it to a slightly smaller size and maybe add a safety wire for good measure?Any help appreciated I don't want to pull the engine and crack the cases.Thanks

    oven cleaner and crumpled tin-foil,should take it off without scratching the pipes.Just be careful not to get it on anything else and rinse well.

    I'm so stoked,just took delivery of the bike.Thought it was a 76 with 6000 miles but its a 74 with 5200.Will take some time to build,I'm in the middle of moving,but it was the first thing moved to the new place.
