Crap (aluminum) in the oil CB350 rebuild....

I pulled it already, when i unbolted it it did push off of the jug about a quarter inch (the set screw was still tightened), indicating to me that the cam chain was under some tension, the spring and pusher seemed to move freely when the set screw was loosened. The face of the pusher was...

Crap (aluminum) in the oil CB350 rebuild....

Im stumped, im working on a 71 cb350 twin project and completely disassembled the engine down to the cases to fix a bent valve and replace the rings and cam chain tensioner. Everything came apart except; I left the crank shaft assembly together and left the transmission shaft/gear assemblies...

i know, just seems weird to have an o-ring to prevent oil from getting to a gasket...

    I forgot something.....

Forgot to install the piston rubber 0-rings between the gasket and bottom of the cylinder.....around the cylinder sleeve. bike is a 71 CB350 twin. how big of an issue is this...i assume there was a good reason to put those there. Will the gasket not keep the oil in the engine? has anyone done...

1972 Cb350 that has sat for 20 years problems

How many miles on the bike? I would check your cylinder compression, if you dont have a compression tester, you can buy them pretty cheap. Low compression can indicate a need for new piston rings or valve issues. If you have low compression a common check is to pour a very small amount of oil...

Anyone recommend a good brand of paint to use with spray gun?

Also, I made tons of mistakes during my first painting process and am very happy I didnt spend the money for HoK or PPG quality paints. If this is your first "good" paint job using an automotive painting system, the weakest link will not be your paint. And my paint job still turned out pretty...

Anyone recommend a good brand of paint to use with spray gun?

I used summit racing's line of single stage urethane (relabeled Kirker??) on my last bike project. I have very little experience with automotive paint, but it laid down very nicely and seems to be holding up well. It was pretty cheap at about $30 a quart for color and you can use the same...

Lacing up aftermarket alloy rims. Long winded photo walkthrough.

Nice write up! Do you bother with lubrication on the nipple heads or anything on the threads to keep them from loosening? Or do you feel the tension from the spokes is enough to keep the nipples from backing out? Do you balance your wheel after mounting the rubber? What method?

Need some input! Got the new fork seals from all balls, but the directions seem to be backwards from the seal design. See below. Which direction do i install them!!?? I would think the chamfer on the OD would go downward but the directions say put the dual sealing ribs downward which would...

I decided to get OEM swingarm bushings, figured they will be fine for what i have in mind for the bike, also got wheel bearings and tapered steering stem bearings. The swingarm pivot bushings or inner pieces seem fine. There are no ridges or wear that i can see, and i measure the diameter...

    '71 CB350 Winter Project

I tore into the engine this weekend. When the bike ran, there was an issue shifting from 2nd to 3rd, but this problem only started after I dumped the bike in the grass going about 40mph and bent the shift lever backwards about 6 years ago. So i just decided to rip apart the whole thing to get...

any opinions on these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CB350-CL350-Bronze-Swingarm-Bushings-bearing-/250731400539?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a60c18d5b Looks like a pretty good deal for $40-50 ??? Is that needle bearing really any better than the stock sleeve?

I had my first encounter with the polishing monster. Shes a bitch! But kinda addicting. I think if i hit em again with 2000 grit and a buffing wheel it should come out pretty good. Any pointers on the discoloration on the front wheel hub? Do i just have to keep working it?

I got almost everything disassembled and am beginning the inspection and cleaning process. The front forks dont look too bad, new fork seals are on the way. The steering stem bearings are ok. The races and balls dont show any pitting. The front wheel actually looks pretty good too once i...
