Hey so i completely forgot about this post. I did get a little further along so i'll post a couple renders i had laying around. Been caught up in work and have not had too much time to work on it. Anyway here goes.
I did go ahead and finally get the rear end properly modeled. I went ahead a...
No fun in that 1fasgsxr, plus i dont feel like spending 350 for that hub. I have some connections to get the parts made fairly inexpensively. Also i think the possibility of litterally bolting on parts to a wheel to adapt it to another application has its merits as in not needing to completely...
That would definately be helpful, im working off an 03 front end but i cant imagine them being that different. I have to think about the dimensions i need though... i would guess just bearing to bearing outer dimension should help. I think i can take the stock bearing measurements and go...
Funny u mention that i was thinking about that as well.. but i dont have measurements for the stock gsxr hub so i dont know where the bearings are sitting. I need to read up on how that axle assembly works out then ill see if i can make something of it.
I figured as much... i guess my next exercise is to rapid prototype some spacers to make the cb750 axle fit in the gsxr forks and see if i can spin the wheel between the calipers. Cant really trust the model on the spokes since i kinda eyeballed them.
Alright! So i got a little work in this week. I finally got around to modeling up the calipers. I pretty much make sure the exterior envelope was modeled correctly so i can see what the gap is and if the spokes hit the calipers (they do). It appears like the outermost spoke is hitting the...
Thanks! The modeling part is easy, its the taking dimensions and double checking the model to the part thats time consuming!
I got into drafting up the calipers last night almost half done so i should be able to figure out if i can keep the cb750 front hub or not. Updates soon.
Good information! I've reverse engineered 03 gsxr forks and my cb750k7 frame. I can try to validate these equations in my cad mockup and design this relationship correctly thanks! I started a thread on my digital project under project cafes.
Thanks for the comments!

The GSXR fork is about 28.5in vs the stock cb being ~29.5 i would hope an inch wont be too much of a difference.
The stock GSXR triple has a 30mm differential from the stock CB750 triple, right now I'm leaving it as is as i'm gathering the base line data...
Hello Everybody!
I recent purchased two old non running cb750's (Craigslist bundle) to start a little side project after being intrigued by some of these custom rides on this site and on the net in general. I current work as a mechanical engineer in an aviation interiors company. As much...
