1970 CB175 BUILD.

Youve been sitting on that one for how long? Right on man. Im gonna make Vstacks for everything!! Simple task too. Will try this weekend perhaps!

Thanks

VERY good info! Nice trick!

I went with the UNI 2 stage red dudes. I was concerned about the heavily increased airflow of running it with a thin element so these UNIs have me confindent Ill be able to do some accurate tuning. They have a bend in their flange, and I also used part of the flange from the old airbox. Looks awesome. Theyre huge though ha. It looks like those harley flat trackers with the two massive K&Ns sticking out. Gangsta gangsta.

Cant wait to see some updates of your bike bro - Ive got a bunch done but havent added photos yet, so Its all talk until I do!

When you make those take some pics and put it in this and the mod thread please. I might give them a try as well.

+1 Hotfunk and another to seeing those PVC v stacks when you are done. Might be better off trying them in an oven though - more uniform heat.

Clubmans look nice.

Sticking with my clipons I reckon with the build (clubmans are for a moped) but they sure are nice! Inspired me to polish up the tree & mounts.

Curb, you making any progress on this? Seems like all the 175/200's are slowing way down.

Ive been trying to hide. In school for another 2 weeks. Ordering a chain & some final bits soon. I pretty much just gotta do the little bits to button it up. Its alllllll those small bits that make me crazy. Still lots to do.

Mount seat
Figure battery placement (figure which battery)
mount brake light.
Signals? Pish. I need em to pass safety though.
paint frame
paint wheels

Ill put the engine back together tomorrow perhaps & post a pic.

Ive been living through your & other builds.

I actually went to check my springtime project today. Finish up my little cabin in the woods. Off the grid!

Thanks for the kick in the ass.

Heres my engine. I still need to clean up the sidecovers a bit, reset the kickstart spring, & plug my stater hole.

Feeling like the newbie I am regarding the rebuild stage. Lots of dumb questions soon will follow.

And those will be followed by plenty of dumb answers! Ask away!!! The brake plates look killer, as does the motor. Should be a real stunner when finished man!

Motor looks great! Looks a lot like mine. I got most of it back together this weekend. I'll post pics after i get the top end back on.

Here's a dumb question, (I haven't checked the manual yet) Is there supposed to be a ball bearing between the clutch activater and the clutch basket? I forgot all about it and it came to me as I was laying in bed this morning deciding whether it would be cheerios or raisin bran for breakfast. If there is supposed to be one then my cover will be coming back off.

Yup:

Yeah, when I pulled mine of the first time the bearing came out but DrJ pointed out to load up that hole with some grease and put the bearing back in. Hasn't come out since then!

Motor's lookin great Curb!

I need to go back and do more reading after this post but its looking great man! Would like to hear about the off grid cabin sometime too.
You can adjust that clutch cable all you want but without the ball bearing it'll never happen. ask me how I know ;D
The grease in the hole is the only way to go.
