When there are only 1.2 million XS650 choppers out there, the world needs another. The sled became a chopper. I tried and failed to avoid doing this. Bring on the intervention. Choppers rule.

I'm balancing the crank on my next XS650 project... my XS Hardtail shook the shit outta me... I'm still traumatized. Have fun with it... I'd do another in a heartbeat if I stumble across a good donor on the cheap.

Balancing or rephasing. I think you mean rephase as balance wont do much.

Nope... I meant balancing... no way mine was balanced well... that thing shook way worse than any 360 degree twin I've ever messed with. (BSAs, Triumphs). Rephasing would be cool but that's real money, (splitting the crank and camshaft and re-welding, grinding, new ignition, shipping.)

Gotcha. I figured rephase because from what Ive read and the coiple times ive ridden an xs650 they vibrate bad balanced or no.

Found a vintage emergency beacon, which looks to play the part of a perfect electrics box. I might use the lamp as a tail light. Also have a seat formed and figured out. The cover is only temporary, as I’ll finish in leather when I’m past the point of ruining things.
