1974 Suzuki TS185 enduro

I got my front and rear sprockets, chain and a seal in today. So all I'm waiting for is my tach cable and exhaust gaskets. I swear, it doesn't take much to make me happy, I don't know what my wife is talking about ::)
Just on a side note, my wife did say that I need to build a my woodshop/work area in the garage. I asked her when she wanted me to do this. Her reply was, "The sooner, the better." I said, "Hi, I'm Scott, what have you done with my wife?"

I love your wife... hahahahahahaa

Can she tell my wife a thing or two? ::)

Ha ha. I asked her if she'd talk to your wife. Her answer, "You spend too much time on the forum." I knew that was coming.

Hahahaha so our wives do have something in common!!!

Got my sprockets and chain in and installed today. Also installed new exhaust gaskets and tach cable. Got it to idle at 1800-1900 RPM's and was a little dogish. So I cleaned out my baffle and drained my exhaust system. Had alot of gunk in there. It did help alot by cleaning it.
Since I got that done, the horn stopped working. I checked my battery/charging system and thats working fine. Must be a lose connector somewhere, or the horn gave up the ghost. But since I have to take my tank off again, I'll look into that
when I'm at that point. Got some blinkers coming from Ringo, so I may ditch my idea of the LED's since I'm having a hard time actually finding a 6V electronic flasher unit. I'd feel more comfortable with the stock ones anyway because they are more visable.
Thats it for now, looks like everything is in working order (- horn).

Haven't been doing to much with the bike lately due to being sick. But.... I did manage to order tires, tubes and wheel bearings. Yesterday the tires came in and I must say that I'm happy with the tread design as the ones I have on there now are for dirt/off road.

Also, I was not that observant and missed the fact that i was missing a chain guard, so I made one.

Still waiting on the tubes, rim strips and wheel bearings. After thats all done, all I have left to do is the blinkers.

Dirt track at Berthoud, one of dozens within a very short drive....Love Colorado

Yes, that is a jump. for a 40 year old motorcycle with original suspension,.... ::) lets just say it was the best jump we could find with the short time we had.

Ah yes, Big Rapids. I went to Ferris also. I live in Rochester. We'll have to hook up this summer since I work Bloomfield Hills :)

New flasher unit installed, 2 cycle oil reservoir cleaned out (good thing I did that, it was clogged), cleaned ground connections and checked battery voltage (it's been hooked up for a week or so and no drop).
New tires and tubes going on today. :)

Ok, so I've gotten quite a bit done this last week. Alot of it is small stuff, but it all counts in the end ;)
First I installed a new flasher unit, then I fixed a blinker that was not working, figured out why horn wasn't working, drained fuel tank and fixed fuel cock (cleaned and installed new gaskets), installed new tires and tubes, new rear wheel bearings, lubed chain, installed new mirrors, wraped some wires under seat because all the electrical tape had peeled off because of 2 cycle oil being poured on it over the years and cleaned out 2 cycle oil reservoir. Going to check all bolts tomorrow morning and then loosen banjo bolts and make sure oil pump is delivering oil to engine. I'll sitll run mixed gas until I can verify. After that, I'll grab some insurance and a plate and I'm ready to roll. Since Michigans weather has been very mild this winter, I'm sure I can grab some riding time.

actually you left out something very important about vintage oil injectors, every year these 20 to 30 year oil components get another year older, and the cables that operate your throttle and oil injector stretch, you know how you have to adjust your throttle cable right? It is usually the same cable that runs to your throttle, it splits in to two cables under your tank, both stretch after they split, just like the one cable above that controls them. You have to follow the cable that goes into the engine on the right side of the low end of the motor and you remove the cover and adjust it inside the oil injector compartment. Failure to replace or adjust the oil injector cable on vintage bikes kills tons of bikes, more and more with each passing year. I hope this helps! This is what i love to ride...so i know what im talking about.
