Got the DB Electric starter in and installed. If the eBay jawn is Valeo, and I think it is, I may swap them out.a cool thing about the DB is that it's about 4lbs lighter. The motor and relay is smaller. The mounting base is doubly thick, and I wanted to keep the stock hardware with the grooved bolt and wire retainer for the flywheel cover. So I drilled out the threaded holes, and countersunk the Allen heads.
In order to utilize stock signals on a USD front end, I had to alter the stems. I opened up the fork holes with a hole saw. Then I flattened the ring and formed the edge to fit the VZ lower triple...
By flattening them out, you have removed some of the structural strength. They may tend to sag a bit over time. But you can cross that bridge later. If it ever comes to it.

There's a redundancy in these things beyond reason. The electronics are an Achilles heal on these BMWs, so simple we will go.
