1979 DT100 Cafe build!

I'm just getting ready to shake the dust off of a DT100 that has been neglected for a while because of my other project bikes that aren't cafes. I really like the seat you did, are you going to use the original hardware to mount it?

No sir! I cut off all the original mounting locations to clean it up and added some tabs to secure the new seat pan and seat.

That looks great, cant wait to see the rest, are you going to premix or run a custom bottle?

I am going to pre-mix. I didn't want to risk the old school pump failing. ;D

The pump is totally BOMB PROOF! Far, far better than any human will ever be able to do pre-mixing! Highly advise you use it, but you will have to have an oil tank obviously.

seat details?

I have one of these with a one-off crank, TZ 250 rod and piston (and etc.) and 30mm Lectron so dig'n your work!

Running premix definitely cleans up the look of the bike so I can see the value in it, and as long as you run a pretty reasonable oil like AMS Dominator you should be okay for most of the rpm range.

I plan on selling mine to some hipster chick at the farmer's market this summer (yes this is literally my plan) so I am leaving it on so that it can be idled at lights and so on without fowling.

Do you have any plans for a tail light or turn signals?

Thanks all! I just don't want all the extra stuff including the oil tank. I too will be looking to sell as soon as it is done. I think it's a really cool bike, but I have to get my "big" bike back.

I am not going to run turn signals as of now. I just cant find any that I like.
