Worked about 3 hours last Sunday on the following. ;D
The left side is what they looked like before I started and the right is about halfway through the sanding process.
Here both fork legs have been completely sanded and hand polished.
This picture I was able to find a polishing bit for my drill and went to town with some Mothers Aluminum Polish.
So after finally getting finished with the front forks I slid them down and installed the repaired fork ears I had bought. S now I will have front turn signals.
I also mounted the front and rear tires after having new rubber installed. Both front and rear tires that were on the bike were at least 20 years old maybe older.
My new seat came in and I really think I am going to like it.
Yes this is one of the seat from Vietnam but I liked this style a lot better then most and it sits really nice on the bike.
Unlike the king/queen that was on there and didn't really fit and was crushing my nuts against the false tank.
So very happy with the fit.
Now I am testing handlebars.
Anyone know a handlebar that is a few inches shorter than stock and about the same pull back.
I have three different sets at home and so far none are very comfortable. They are mostly tracker style.
Plus if I use them the cables will be way too long and I don't want to get custom length cables just yet.
Thanks
