Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - Smokin!

I thought about getting a shifter handle but Swapmeet Louie beat me to it!

And thanks to all of you! I didn't realize everybody was gonna pounce on the video......

YES! Super cool man, Im jealous! Some people smoke cigars, some people make rubber smoke.

I have the same boots as you too! Super comfy! Love the flat soles

Might steal that hand start idea. Tough as nails!

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - Smokin!

Thanks again fellas!

Curb (or anybody else really) - if you do go with the pull start, make sure that you get something comfortable for your hand and it rotates on the kickstart arm. I tried with the original rubber for about 1 day and it ripped the skin off my finger. I bought a cheap set of round aluminum footpegs from denniskirk.com and cut about 1/4" off the end to get it to fit.

Damn it Rich, you know the torture this creates since I can not watch video at work! Congrats on getting it up and going though! I can't wait to get home and check the vid! I have started cutting the goodies for you, but as you know I am under a lot of preasure right now, so don't expect them for a while, but I will get them to you! Cheers my friend!

That, my friends, is how you do hardcore.

Sorry Crescent, I just gotta point out - while it may look pretty cool, I personally don't recommend anybody doing this. It puts SO much pressure on the entire drivetrain, know what I mean? Plus, the front tire is so old that even with the front brake locked up the power from the rear tire will actually slide the front all over the place. So my front tire was actually up against the wall in the garage. But thanks man!

And Brandon..... I totally forgot that you can't watch videos at work! I know you will appreciate the video when you get home though. And no worries on the goodies! I'm taking my time on that project. Did you get that package?

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - Smokin!

USPS. I know it will take forever but I had a couple different packages going out that same day. It was just easier to throw yours in with the batch. Just curious!

Thats cool, I will let you know when I get it, and thanks! Eileen has you on her credits now!

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - Smokin!

Shit, I was talking about the pull start as much as anything. Screw the little red button, I start mine like a chainsaw!

Plus the badass dude doing the burnout... ;)

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - Smokin!

I actually am trying to build a small thumper for a little bike... I am hoping I can use a pull start, mainly because it makes for something different... I also already have a few motors, and for a small bike, I think it would be cool.

Re: 68 CL175 Project Vicarious - Smokin!

Yeah, I think Deviant1 got a little quad with the actual corded pull start. Wonder what's the plan with that thing? Probably on hold til the Rob Bob is done.
