Here's my 1973 CB250 ... May be giving it a facelift, not sure about changing it completely or going for the full vintage honda racer look with the yellow fairing flashes.
It doesn't look that pink in person, is a relatively deep red. Custom fairing.
Excuse my face in the pictures, not too sure what happened there! haha
Cheers guys, yeah it should pull when sorted. Rubber intake boots on the carbs have perished slightly so its letting too much air in and isn't running right. Need to straighten the fairing up a tad too, that's also not sitting right, but other than that I'm pleased with it as it is.
After following Ringo's CB550 build which looks AMAZING, I started to look into a Gulf scheme. Not wanting to copy and wanting it to look a little different to the original blue and orange, i stumbled upon this and am tempted to repspray it in the same style....what d'you guys think?
The fairing was made to fit onto another bike but Im not too sure what it was, its been modified slightly to fit but it isn't perfectly straight at the moment, still needs some tinkering! Was trying to Photoshop the design onto another image of the bike but cant decide whether to paint the fairing or keep it plain and silver...
Getting closer 'til the day I get my hands back on the bike! ...bit confused on what to do now, I do love the fairing but made a quick Photoshop of my bike without it and it looks possibly a bit better in my opinion....hmm decisions decisions...
yeah imo fairings are not cool Unless you go full blown vintage racer look. I'd loose the bulk of that frnt fender too. I am battling myself as to go fenderless or not currently as well.

yeah this was the only front end I could photoshop in so the fender had to stay...was thinking of a slightly bobbed fender because I want to run a 'pedestrian cutter' number plate....but I do like the look of no fender, just a brace...
i'm not smart nuff so i'd never bother doing it, but you could have a crack at designing something so the fairing is an optional element. ie. the overall design will work both naked as well as with the fairing. i've seen some japanese folks do this really well.
that thing looks so nice that it's kind of a shame to completely leave it behind.
i think the grey and beige colour scheme on your first concept it really nice too
Got the fairing (as shown in the first few pics), thing is, most people who have said they want the fairing or a copy of it are from America, so buy the time I put in time to make copies and then ship to america, its really gonna push the price up...

fairing would be cool if you used one of those long squarish small tanks I think they are off of a honda cr
Yeah I agree actually, make it look like a proper vintage racer, but they cost quite a bit and am a bit stuck for funds at the minute :-\...I do like the look of the current tank on it aswell, I think its from a cb550, not sure....hell, If I can flog a couple of fairings in the UK I may be able to pay for one haha
Anybody able to move this into the build thread section?
Got started on the bike today, battery was flat so its currently on charge :-\ . Will get a video of it running as soon as.
Took the fairing off to see how it looks. The headlight mounts directly onto the fairing so i've had to cable tie it on to the forks for the minute to see if it looks alright, then I'll pick up some proper mounts.
Took the header and mufflers off to give them a decent clean. Collars are being cleaned at the moment aswell, may give them a lick of paint if I can decide on a scheme for the motor.
Anyway, pictures! ;D haha...I like the stance of the bike as it is to be honest, but may lower the front an inch or two...any thoughts? (Sorry about the poor quality, was taken at 10pm in a poorly lit garage with a laptop camera haha)
