6-8 kicks, choke open, nothing.
2 kicks full throttle, nothing.
Pulled the plugs and they're dry. Last time I removed the carbs there was fuel on the intake manifolds. Intake/exhaust valves are opening/lifting as normal
Coils wired correctly? Blues and yellows. Black to + blue and yellow to - and all that?
With my aftermarket coils I wired them backwards once. blue & Yellow to + and blacks to -. It fired and idled fine. but would cut out and die w rpms. That was a head scratcher for a couple moments.
The "keeper" pin in the camshaft that traps advancer. Ummm...
Dude I am running out of ideas. Thats what pisses me off about this whole internet thing. I wish I was standing there scratching my head and staring at it with you.
Choke the shit out of it and crank her. Its got to be getting gas.
At least y'all have some ideas for me. I ran out a while back. Petcock is working, I don't have much gas in the tank so I swapped it out with a bottle, so bowls were full up.
I have the carbs out again, gonna recheck the pilot circuits again. It's like some fuel is getting to the intake valve, but not enough to fill up the chamber to make boom.
I haven't checked compression with gauge. May have to get one if I don't make any progress.
Pull the A/F mix adj needles out. prop the butterfly open I use a 10mm socket. shove the carb cleaner tube in the needle hole, move the angle of tube around as you spray. Besides squirting out the single large A/F mix hole You, should see 3 tiny little fountains under the butterfly. I might have a picture I took.
I think??? But even if clogged it ought to pop off on the larger air/fuel circuit alone. It will hesitate on take off if the 3 pilot holes are clogged.
I use a tiny bent safety pin to poke in those 3 holes to clear them.
I luvs teaching people new stuff ;D
Those butterfly screws are really chewed up
It's not unusual for the 'reservoir' under the bypass holes to be slightly gummed but most likely you have something wrong with shut off valves and/or float level
LOLZ, ;D
I think you know I have ton of carb pics in various stages of 'destruction' and repair.
Anyone interested can search for Photobucket and maybe youTube links, pretty sure I've posted them multiple times?
OMG I know I fucking hated those O-rings !!!
Honda sells the gaskets...but they are $16 each...AND I dont know...They may just be O-rings too. When ordering, I would tell the parts guy...If I get these and they are O-rings Im gonna shove them down your throat. And make sure you can get your money back If they are not CORRECT FACTORY SQUARE GASKETS. Before you order them.
Yeah going to have to go to the dealer, these o-rings add too much frustration to working on these carbs.
Poked out and blew carb cleaner through the pilot holes on both carbs. Clear. Going to throw them back on. I'm 100% convinced these carbs should start the bike at this point.
I'll double check spark, etc when I get em back on.
Ok maybe more like 90%. I'll be 100% when it starts
Brendon at Common Motor Collective has the correct 'O' rings.
Use a TINY dab of contact cement at the 5 'corners, press 'O' ring into position then let it pop out until glue 'dries'
re-fit and your done. (it's easier than the Shellac Kei-Hin/Honda used at factory)
