Re: 77 cb750f2 915cc

I may have missed it somewhere but what size wheels/tires are you running? and what front master cylinder are you running? Awesome bike BTW!

Re: 77 cb750f2 915cc

Got out on the bikes today with brandEn and made a little video while experimenting with the GoPro. Need to get a solid back housing to cut down the wind noise for sure.
Bike is running very well, super strong. During the second clip hit 115mph quick and easy and still had a ton to give. Thanks again to Mike Rieck for the head work and over all guidance with this engine build. Love the sound of the RS34 rattle. ;D

cool, that first video you did where you accidentally wheelied in second got me inspired to finish my franken-engine :)

RCC, glad I could help inspire someone of your talent... Nothing like a roll on front wheel lift on a vintage bike.

Got the bike out for the day today and brought the camera while out on the ride.

Re: 77 cb750f2 915cc

Have you dynoed the bike with this engine setup? What sort of output did you get (or can you reasonably expect)?

Those videos are inspirational, to say the least. I almost felt the wind in my face. And the rattle of the mikunis adds a very nice touch...!

Thanks
M.

Here is the initial Dyno after 500 miles on the bike.

Adjustments to the accelerator pump have smoothed out the AF mix and should help the top end power. Hope to get it back on the dyno this summer to see if its loosened up a bit and the accelerator pump adjustments helped.

Re: 77 cb750f2 915cc

Thanks Cuba. My goal is close to 95hp, we will see. I think I have the accelerator pump dialed in so I won't be dumping too much fuel at the top end of the rpm range.

That's mighty impressive. And you plan on hitting the 90hp mark, right?

Impressive...!

I thought the accelerator pump is meant to work off idle, not at the top rpm.
95 rwhp will be very nice though...!
Questions:
- What compression ratio are you running?
- In the description of your setup I didn't note any conrods. Are you using stock items?
- What is the weight of the bike?

Thanks
M.

Re: 77 cb750f2 915cc

Yes the accelerator pump should come on just after idle and not stay on long at all. Initially it was coming on at 1/4 throttle and staying on way too long thus it could have been killing top end power.
I am running Super rods on this engine and 10.25:1 compression. Never weighed the bike but is is on the list of things to do this summer.
95hp is lofty but we all need goals...
