So the Freddie rothmans is finished, I am going to take on a tribute to Eddie Lawson, I am going to build a tribute to the kr250, as usual not to try to replicate it but build a bikedirectly inspired from it. here is the cool kr250

so I will take this 250 ninja just picked it up tonight, and do a custom tank, prob modify a airtech fairing, add gpz550 wheels I already bought them a few weeks ago, and a butch of random gpz zx suspension bits.

Good choice man, but I'm still waiting to see the finished HRC bike. And also, at some point you're going to have to actually make one of these reps. a 2 stroke!

Thanks for checkin in guys, should be differant and prety light when all is said and done. I would love to be able to afford a cool two stroke but they are hard to find and pricey, plus the It 175 I built

was a two stroke and quite honestly a real bitch, prety much turned me away from smokers. The hrc is almost done with the carb cleaning, then a week max and she will be ready to roll. Got everything off the 250.

Thanks guys! Made some progress! Front wheel was a piece of cake to make work, rear wheel is next, wood craft clip on in place, I think this one will go together pretty easy! Knock on wood!!!!!

I was wondering why you chose that base for the bike, but looking at that frame without the tank on it, it seems to have very similar lines to the Kawa. Obviously that tank will make or break the bike. Loving the wheels, I could see those ending up on my RD build ;) how much did you get the pair for?

I think the frames are fairly similar wich is why I chose it, the wheels I got for $ 50 bucks a piece, be warned its a 19 front! The rear wheel is going to be a little tricky, I am having to cut down the gpz rotor to mach the diameter of the ex other than that just a matter of making one spacer and milling down one side of the rear caliper arm. I also put new set heavy fork springs and a ex 500 shock witch helped a ton.

Checkin in on this build as well. If its anything as cool as the rothmans bike you have my approval in advance.

Great , I really like the Kawasaki 250 although Kawasaki is not proud of the fact it's a 250, they never have the 250cc labeled on the bike. They always want people to think it's a bigger bike. They build it to look bigger than it should be IMO. That aside this will another cool bike from bradswm. I'm currently into small CC bikes, working on my RT360 Cafe conversion. Hey with "butch"GPZ parts should be exciting I've always thought Kawasaki was kinda butch? I think your take off wheels are 16?
Cheers, 50gary

I take it back about it being a pain, was able to make everything work and with the upgraded suspention and skinny ass tires it is as telapathic as my old cb125, its a blast!!! post some pics when it there is some visable progress. thanks for checking in guys. 50gary the old wheels were 16, now the front is a 19 and the rear is 18.

You are one productive guy! I'm on board. Love the inspiration for this build, as usual.

Thanks everyone. Some good stuff from ups today!!! I gotta say I am more excited for this bike than I was for the rothmans at this point, think it will be totaly 80s!

Ya it has its own zip code! I am already thing of going away from my original intent and making it a bit differant. We will see. Here is what I am thinking with the rear (scribled area to be removed).
