Thanks! The USD front end was from a ZX7 if I remember correctly. It had an XS650 steering tube grafted in. I've actually gotten rid of that front end though.

I guess I will have to modify any of the USD front end I will find in order to fit into the original XS650 frame.

Yup. None bolt up (that I've ever heard of at least). Good machine shop should be able to mount the XS neck into the USD trees pretty easily though.

Ok. Minor non-update (figured I was due). The Sat after next I'm dragging the bike to Brads. Plan is:

Seat mounts
Headlight mount
Rear brake setup
Finalize wheel fitment
Rear fender mounts/sissy bar
Make sure everything fits (hahaha)


Once home I'll clean up and paint it all. Wire it and fire it.

This fucking winter, my truck being a raging piece of shit, and being broke keep pushing this back but I think we're finally coming to the end. Fingers crossed...

Ha, I feel you Mike. I have had the GL on the table since October and have got as far as draining fluids and pulling the valve covers. It needs to be done by May and I have yet to get the day I need to do it. POS cars suck, I just got done all the strut mounts on mine and now it is throwing the check engine light ffs. Get r done at Brads, looking forward to seeing this thing go together for you.

Was cleaning out the snow out of the bed of my truck yesterday and found more beer bottle glass. I might drive out to Brad's Saturday just to kick the bike over in the driveway and leave.
