So close I can taste it! I just need to finish wiring up the headlight and front signals, once that's done all I have to do is start it and work out the tuning bugs if there are any. I'm Hoping to be riding and shaking her down this weekend.
Man she looks awesome! Can't wait to see her done and running! Are you going to get some better pic's once she's out and about? Would be nice to get some good full on shots...
I think I'm going to do a little photo shoot with it when I'm done. I'm thinking that I'll get some white sheets to hang as back drops and do some really shallow depth of field digitals of it, I know a little about photography but my camera is a little crappy so I'm hoping they'll come out good.
Here she is as she sits. I was able to ride it around all weekend and all seems to be pretty damned good! I just need to finish up the brackets for the burn guard on the exhaust and tweak the throttle grip so it snaps back a little better and it will be DONE! Well just about anyway, I'm going to use a colortune to get my air fuel mixture right and depending on how it performs over the coming weeks I may have to change some jets but it seems to be running great right now so I'll cross my fingers and hope I hit my re-jetting close enough.
I plan on doing a little photo shoot with it when I get a free minute so stay tuned for some better pics!
Excellent work. Really like the black painted items (fenders, bars, tail light, ect.). It really makes the bike. Great job on the seat, too.
Did you get the jet sizes all figured out?
I ran it for 3 days straight and the idling issue seemed to work itself out and it rips through the RPM range well. I haven't pulled the plugs yet but I will this weekend & I'm going to borrow a color tune from a friend this week to make sure my air/fuel mixture is good. Other than that she seems to be running great and and fires right up with a hair of choke.
The exhaust sounds pretty sweet for a 250 cc too. It definitely sounds like and old dirtbike which is fine with me and goes with the overall vibe of the bike.
I just saw your bike in the 'Before and After' thread and had to check out your build. Amazing, love how it turned out. Love the tank and I'm blown away at the exhaust you made. Very nice work!
