Ace 50 Salt Lake Racer

Did I miss it? How fast did you go?
39.5 miles per hour at a little over 8000rpm using a 125cc rear cog. If we hadn't hit a soft spot at the start of the timing mile we would have easily topped 40. The record is set, if anyone wants to challenge it next year a properly tuned exhaust, well run in motor and a set of narrower handlebars would be all it would take to happily top 40 based on our results.

Haha, yeah it's a tiny speed by most standards, but given the bike was only good for around 28mph from the factory specs we're pretty happy with hitting 39.5 :)

Love the pics, thank you for sharing them - and well done on the results / record btw !

Kinda reminds me of that movie 'The World's Fastest Indian' ... did you pop in some go-fast juice in the tank before the trial run or used boot polish on the tires to make them smooth ? hehe

Great stuff ! Your bike looks awesome ... stands out.

Cheers, Haz

Haha, they check the fuel after record runs now, so no more magic pills :p

Definitely considering it SC, 12 months is a long way away but there are a lot of changes to the Ace still to come so we will see how improvements go throughout the year.

Quick update, just finished a prototype of our brackets to turn a front guard into a clean rear hugger so that we can dump the big original while staying completely road legal. Current design is a bolt-on requiring only 2 small holes to be drilled to mount (one in the guard, one in the swingarm). Designed to move with the wheel so that clearance is always maintained.

Any Melbournites interested in checking out the little 50cc in the flesh, we are having a launch party for Suus Friday next week (9th) at the Kustom Kommune in Collingwood. Come on down, have a drink with us and check out the bike along with a bunch of our other cool stuff. https://www.facebook.com/events/1439627976281670/
