Ace125 v2.0 (First re-build)

Photo as PM:

I cut it down with a file, W&D, and completed with Scotchbrite and WD40 for a satin finish.
It stands about 3-4 mm above the surrounding surface and tidied up with s/s button head screws.

Thanks Crazy!! I'm going to have a go at trimming mine down this week hopefully! Much appreciated

Had a good day getting my hands dirty in the sunshine, so there's a few pictures!

Wheeled the bike outside for some extra Vitamin D

Decided to strip the fender as it's a bit rough from a previous attempt.. paint and re-shaping to come

This stuff is pretty intense!

My biggest triumph of the day..

Battery is mounted under the hump, stock indicators back on for now and headlight all wired up too. So all in all.. a successful day!

Thanks for watching :D

Easy done!

Later I will be adding a detachable GoPro mount to the triple using the existing holes.

There's an idea! My lady bought me one for my birthday a few months ago, haven't had much of a chance to use it.

I have to ask how did you attach that brake light to the seat,or did you attach it to the frame and just have it poking though the hole.
can you get a picture of the inside one day, would be great :)

I'll try to remember to take a photo next time, it's a pretty neat setup that requires minimal modification to your existing setup.. Oh, and a bunch of triple checking measurements! haha

In other news, wired my stock indicators back in this evening.. I think I'm okay with them for right now. I had thoughts of going with tiny LEDs for the minimal look, but where I've mounted them, the extra length has proven to be beneficial. I'll show what I mean next time I take photos..

Had a further thought about painting the front fender,. Now that it's currently stripped and smooth, I might paint a black stripe to match the tank strap and either clearcoat the raw metal, or go with a matching silver for the rest. If I go to that effort, I'll also do a matching stripe down the rear cowl.. Maybe it'll give the illusion that the bike is longer than it is? We all know it needs the help!!

One last diddy; I ordered replacement rear hub damper bushes, as mine are completely shot already. Good information to know: '70 CB100 (PART NO# 41241-222-000) has the exact same rear hub setup! HONDA OEM parts in a honda knock-off? Yes please!

Thanks, and I hope to meet up with some fellow MCR/Australian Cafe people sometime!

Hi Tim, great project and great idea for that whiteboard!
:D

Good luck man!

good to know about the bushes we were talking about this on the ace facebook group, if it had rubber bushes or not.

I only noticed when changing my rear sprocket.. the stock ones are really junk. Under normal load, just under 1000k's on the clock and half were cracked, some chewed up.. nasty! Just added the part number to the original post

Thanks to StrokerCrazy, I went ahead and cleaned up my top triple clamp. I clear coated it, but after seeing it today in the light.. I'm going to spend a little more time getting the minor scratches out.

In other news.. I've ordered a mirror with a different look in mind..

Something a little like this, without the extra low stance..

Not much else to report, apart from the excitement of almost having it back on the road! I'll have some more photos of progress hopefully mid week.

As always,

Thanks for looking!

I'm fairly sure it's a carb sync tool..

So today was productive, with more work on things that are hidden and less stuff to show.. but ended up taking photos of the battery/light set-up as requested.

It was sunny out, so I rolled the bike out and took some photos of it 'almost' complete! It's on the way!

Some more bits and pieces on the way, hopefully have it rolling comfortably next week!

Glad to hear that you'll soon be riding again!

Are you going to fit some sort of brace on the rather spindly front forks? Having the wheel throw spray is one thing, having an unpredictable front end can be too exciting!

Crazy

Front fender will be going back on! Paint was drying on it, so wasn't keen to mess that up.

I'm starting to feel kinda stupid for creating this build thread now.. as it seems like people apart from Stroker Crazy aren't really saying much.

Oh well, next time I'll know to get a Honda
