I will not support ANYTHING TonUpChicago is involved in.
Just look at their website --->
http://www.tonupchicago.com/
It was taken down/put on hold because Larry (pres of TonUpChicago) is so shady he hasnt paid for webhosting for MONTHS !
So the last thing I nor ANYONE should do is support an event (such as this) that will just put more money in his pocket...
Really man? Seriously?...
I used to post sporatically on your forum's and lurk.. but everytime I see you going out of your way to bash Ton-Up I think less and less of your club. Not only that, but I went to Acetober with some friends. I didn't really interact with any Ton Up guys, but the event itself was awesome. There were tons of really cool builds, there was fairly priced beer, and when I went back to the brat stand because I had forgotten to pay the lady serving up the brats informed me that they were on the house. The event was fucking awesome, and I hope this gets bigger each year.. maybe we'll get the alderman to shut down the block to cars? Furthermore Ace is a cool little shop, and as far as I can tell Chad is a stand up guy. So even if you insist on letting the whole world know that you have a grudge against Ton Up, why would you insist on trying to keep people away from Ace, a shop that is doing a lot for the scene?
As I've stated dozens of times, I have no interest in taking sides, much less joining any motorcycle club. And I really don't know or care about all the details behind the beef. But I have to say that you certainly aren't making your club seem like "the bigger man." Trying to dissuade others from attending a Ton Up sponsored event because they forgot to pay their website hosting bill is beyond ridiculous. Why not throw events of your own? I'm sure you do, but why not just try to outdo Ton Up's events.. this seems like a much more healthy (for you, and for the vintage bike community as a whole) way to channel your grudge.
I really hope you don't take this personally, I am not trying to attack you, I just am calling it how I see it. If you do throw an event, I'd love to come out and support it, just as I went out to support Acetoberfest, and just as I'll go out and support any positive vintage motorcycle event.
