All Illinois/Chicago/General Area people sign in here !!

JKR, I'm around the suburbs and I'll be more active this summer. WHereabouts are you from? I'm south and west of Aurora.

I am out that way alot! one of the guys i ride with lives in N Aurora... i am in Elgin off 20 highway

Sweet! I live down in the Sugar Grove area, lots of very nice rural roads.
We come up to North Aurora every other weekend for hookah.

THat's *sick*. Is his place sort of at the corner of Dugan and 30 or Dugan and Granart?

it is called Team Technoligy, not sure the road it is on, huge like the size of a football field under roof... there is a 711 gas station on the corner i belive

ALright, he's not where I thought he was.

I just dug him up, he's up in Batavia. Still right in the general area.

Well, that's a relief, world isn't as small as I thought. XD

The owners son Mitch is actually my buddy. Mitch is the head machinist there... great group though i love heading up there... Mitch lives a bit further south, he just bought a new house... that is the guy i am usually wiht in the pics i post of us riding, he has the BMW adventure...

I gotta drag you guys down to the lounge for a cigar some weekend once the bike season is in full swing, the weather we've been getting lately is ridiculous so I haven't been out to get my M-class in proper yet.

sounds good to me! go get legal man we ride with a huge group of every kind of bike you can think of... about 4 or 5 of my buddies i ride i wiht are on here but stalk the forum not post! hahaha

I've got my permit, so I can *technically* ride legally with anyone over 21 who's had his license long enough... BUT, I should get the damn thing anyway.

GOtta do some gearing work on the DT though, it's too wheelie prone and runs out of steam at 75. XD

I have a bandit and cb500 that prob 20 people have taken the test on... i live about 2 miles away from teh DMV in elgin if ya ever need someone to go with you so you can ride there legal

I live close to the Plano DMV and I've actually been riding the DT on private property since I was 12, it's a very easy bike to ride. I'll probably rack up another week on it then have my dad escort me on his new Harley.

Sadly he's kinda boring and doesn't like hookah or cigars, so it'll probably be my brother and our buddy Ryan once he finally gets his Ninja 750.

EDIT:
But IF that doesn't work out when I'd like it to... I will certainly bother you about it. :D

Before you take the test, read the book and then go around after hours and practice on their test "track" if it's accessible. Our local one is in a mall and they test out the back, so it's always "open".

Being able to ride is essential and so is being able to do their test routine on their test set up. That's what I did and it was invaluable.

Hey all, new guy here. Just checking in.

My name is Brendan, live in Mchenry. Current ride is an '05 Vulcan 1500 Classic, but once some financial things are ironed out, will be looking for a project bike of the cafe persuasion.

Previous bikes: 1979 KZ750B, 1991 Honda Nighthawk 750, 1978 KZ650C

I don't have much in the way of tools, but I know my way around BMW airheads and early oil-heads, KZ's, and am always willing to help where I can regardless of make or model.

If anyone else is nearby, it'd be good to find some guys to ride with come springtime... most of my friends from high school and college never got into bikes, so i usually ride by myself or with my dad who's got a K12GT and a VTX1800 Spec2

Thanks!

hit me up whenever man! i live in Elgin but have a lake house on the chain... i have a few friends that live in McHenry so i head out that way pretty often

Long time looker, hopeful first time rider.

I've always been a car nut but lately I've had the itch to ride a bike. My friends that ride have only made things worse. I recently decided to take the plunge. I picked up a good helmet, jacket, gloves and am planning to take a MSF course as soon as I can.

The big thing on my list is a bike. Where do I start? I was thinking new at first (Cleveland Cyclewerks Misfit or Ace are tempting) but part of me wants a true classic. What are some things I should be looking out for? Any suggestions on a bike? Any suggestions to a new rider?

I hope to be more than just a reader here!
