what the heck is that knob?...steering adjustment? ...already has what looks like a factory dampner on it.

Well, that would be an Kawasaki H2... insane triple 2-stroke....

Drewski has one and can offer some other comments. My understanding is that the knob is the original "damper" and the other one is an aftermarket piece.

"The 750 H2 Mach IV holds the world's record for the fastest normally-aspirated 750cc production motorcycle, running the standing quarter-mile in 7.756 seconds, with a top speed of 170 mph."

You don't want that old bike ! You should sell that bike to me ASAP ! ;D
;D..LOL...it isnt mine it belongs to some guy who wants my buddy to worked on it over the winter....hell i would love to have it myself after reading the link posted above....i never even heard of this bike except maybe in a few threads on other forums but never anything in detail. Awesome history.

Ya, it's a VERY special machine!

I've got a 74 H2. That looks like a 72. It looks very original, so be carefull not to mess with that aspect of it. Those are among the most desireable of all the H2's. Some have been sold in the $10 to $15 thousand range!!!  No joke!!

Its a gem... it needs to be treated as one!! ;D

Here's mine:

Oh ya. :-[

That knob is a steering tensioner. The other damper was added by the factory because the knob adjustment didn't 'do it' very well. ;) The H2 was known for it's evil handling! 'Tank slappers' are a routine experience if you push it a little in the corners!

Wheelies are common as well as the power comes on fairly suddenly. In later years, Kawasaki lengthened the swing arm to try to lessen the tendency to loft the front wheel in the lower gears.

Kawasaki 'got it right' back in the 70's as far as the motor was concerned! The frames and suspension were, sadly, way behind! They weren't the only factory with that problem though. As horsepower grew, the handling suffered on nearly all machines! It really wasn't until the 80's that factory frames and suspension caught up with horsepower.

Fun times though! ;D

For those who are interested, there are boards devoted to Kawasaki Triples (250, 350, 400, 500 & 750!) all over the world! There's one here in Canada too, Kawasaki Triples Canada! 8) 8) Just 'Google' and you'll find it!

Ya, sorry 'my bad'! It's a 73!! It's only worth $7 to $10 thou!! ;) ;D ;D

just found out the owner...this guy is the original owner...wants to get rid of it for something more comfy....he has minor back probs.......didnt say how much but he is definately looking to get rid of it.

original owner... even better!

Let the bidding begin.

Yup! If he knows what he's got! If he's the original owner, he'll know! ;D

The 'problem' with this machine is that it should be kept as original!! It's worth so much more that way! Better to find one that's bin beaten a little to turn into a cafe. Plus, it'll be cheaper! ;D

...not a 'problem' the way that one looks!

You cannot find those machines in that condition - with matching numbers - bonus!

I don't know if the bars are stock, and the crashbars are an add-on.

I like what Drewski has done to his.

It's funny to see this post. I just talked to a guy I know through work and we were talking motorcycle shop.
He said he just gave his Uncle some money and his old bike back for some work on his house. I asked
him what kind of bike he had. He said, " I think it was a 750 Kawasaki. In fact, they called it the Widow-
maker because it was so fast. I never rode it though because I was afraid of it." I cant wait to tell him
about this post. I hope he asks his Uncle for his money back!!!!!

dude, buy it, sell your unborn child if you have to. crazy fast triple. If you get it, keep it stock and restore. it’s a very special bike.

there’s a great article in the first Motorcyclist Retro Magazine, that came out a couple of months ago. Along with some Vic World CB750s. By the way guys... we should all find this mag and start buying. All about Vintage bikes. it’s just started and needs good staring readership to get going. if you find, read and you’ll love it.
