Well the bike is now for sale and he is taking offers.

That would be fun to watch!! ;) I have visions of sharks in a feeding frenzy!!

I wish I could afford an original '73!! That would be cool!

It'll probably end up in the hands of a wealthy collector! :p I just hope that whoever gets it, rides it! At least once in a while! 8)

how much HP did that triple offer at the time? was it in the high 80 range since it was a two stroke?

I think it was more like mid 80's! Something like 83-85 HP. It came on like gang busters around 3500-4000 rpm. That made it 'feel' like more HP than it was! 'Eighty odd' HP was a lot back in the day!!

i know it was... i was fortunate to own a 79 CBX and if you could break 90hp with an air cooled engine you were cookin'!

there’s a great article in the first Motorcyclist Retro Magazine, that came out a couple of months ago. Along with some Vic World CB750s. By the way guys... we should all find this mag and start buying. All about Vintage bikes. it’s just started and needs good staring readership to get going. if you find, read and you’ll love it.

got it. it is a pretty good read. tons of information, lots of old grumpy english bikers

It was more like 75-80 hp . Today that doesn't sound like much but back in 1973 that was about what a Ford Pinto was making and about 15 or so more than a stock VW Beetle. Totally fucking groovy . ;D

Ya, my '77 KZ1000 made 83hp and was the quickest production machine that year.

The H2c in '75 was rated at 71hp, so the low 70's sounds right! I stand corrected! ;D
