Beautiful build but a little too "Blade Runner" for my taste. Call me old fashioned, "snort, snort"

Love the bike, but I love your blast on nortonguy even more. He just really don't get it and you proved your point well. I see a bit of a "Chicken stripe" on that rear tire, If that beast was mine I would be setting corners every chance I got. Thanks for getting the update, I really had been waiting to see it. You do outstanding work, keep it up for the artistic hopefuls who dare to step beyond the worlds little boxs. As for nortonguy and the others who follow in the single file line, let them drive their cookie cutters!

norton guy.
i agree with some of what you say.

i agree that the best frame for that engine was the one it came in originally.
the wideline has long unsupported areas

be ready for the frame to break?. an iteresting statement! Based on what exactly? ??? ?"

NortonGuy: Uh, it is very common for featherbed Norton frames to break up under the stress of modern horsepower and tires. Now if your frame is not a real Norton frame, if it is a replica, then perhaps you did something to it to make it stronger, good for you.

"so why are these foolish people doing these things? could it be that they want something a little different something individual."

Right, apparently they need attention really badly, I guess I don't.

"Do you also frequent Harley Davidson forums and tell them that as standard thier bikes have poor frame geometry, and are badly underbraked?"

Uh, if they were stuffing 150bhp into an old Norton frame designed for 40bhp maybe I would.

"i'm sure on a race track a standard falco would show it nothing but it's ass end."

the desire on here and many forums like this one is to have something that they can call thiers, not something standard that when parked up in a bike park, were you have to go looking at the reg plate number to find yours.

I am sure a standard Falco will be a better perfoming bike too, and also I never did have to look at registration plates to find my Norton in a parking lot, why would you expect I would?

A bit sensitive aren't we? All I was pointing out was that originally in the fifties the reason people put other engines into Norton frames was to end up with a bike that was better performing than the bikes that donated the parts, and that now people put engines into Norton frames not for any practical reason, but because they are insecure if they do not stand out in a crowd, because they need attention very, very badly, enough so to spend thousands of dollars, or to spend hundreds of hours to insure that they do stand out and get that attention.

And doing anything for that reason is pathetic isn't it?

If I modify a bike, it is because I am going to make it faster or better handling or safer, not because I need people to LOOK at me being fast or safe, or in your case, slow and less safe.

@NortonGuy: Give it a break. Dracken knows more about what he's doing than most people here. He's done building the bike, and isn't going to change anything on it because someone on a forum is pestering him. I suggest you go find another tree to bark at.

@Dracken1: I wish your pictures were a little sharper. That last photo would make a mean computer background. The bike looks amazing! A build like this is always inspiring. Keep up the awesome work!

Peace,
Eric

What a sweet looking bike, my only gripe is the chain guard/hugger in the first set of pics and I'm not 100% on the exhaust for some reason. However it isn't my bike so what does that matter, it's still a masterpiece.

Nortonguy, I think you must be on the wrong forum old chap. I think most of us on here are building our bikes for us, not for anyone else. If others like what we are creating, great, if not so what.

That is an absolutely stunning motorcycle. Thank you for sharing and please continue to post pics and fill us in on the progress.
