Despite it being geared almost exclusively toward the Harley bagger crowd, Joetta's leather does have good jackets and cold weather riding gear... Saw a killer sticker that said "I'd rather push my Harley than ride a Jap bike" or something like that, and I thought to myself "That's fine, I'd rather ride my Jap bike by you pushing your Harley than push a Harley."
I have been in there too and they are very nice and helpful the prices are reasonable too. I am just about half the girth of the average male Harley rider and couldn't find anything that I liked that fit.

Cycyle gear had a lot of my sizes so its a great place for me to try on things. They had a BILT 'CafeRacer' jacket but I found it 50 cheaper online. And since I know a 38fits like a glove I feel better ordering it offline having tried it on. Same thing with a helmet tried one on there then I found the same Arai for $70 from a local rider via craigslist not a scratch on the lid or the lens ... Saves me money for a jacket and more money for the bike :D

BILT anything is not quality. My friend and coworker bough BILT gear and within a month many seams had popped and tabs had almost completely ripped off. He did not fall in it and everything was the right size. His snug helmet also got very loose very quickly. It is cheep made in china for almost nothing Cyclegear shop brand crap. I strongly recommend you avoid Cyclegear for quality reasons but because I also feel like it is a place that exists solely to make money. I don't go to Ridenow for the same reason. At least check out Steve's or Bob's before you buy gear at Cyclegear. Try and talk bike with them this will help with your decision I promise.

I really like steves cycles, great bunch of guys and have ordered all of my parts from them since I've owned my bike. Like I said I basically use cycle gear as a fitting room then look for the best deal online or if I really need it I shop around other local shops. But for parts and service I always go to Steve's Cycles. I still need to check out Bob's

(is bobs a shop/salvage yard in phx? If so I've actually been there, picked up a couple rusty but solid tanks for my rear cowl and future tank swap (once I can I'D this random Honda tank I have)

Bob's is a salvage yard -- the biggest in the US -- and they have a pretty sizable shop with new stuff (and some uses stuff -- they've been combing swap meets for chopper/bobber parts too, peanut tanks, fishtail exhaust, lights, etc.). Their tires are all upstairs. I would buy tanks there for seat bumps as well; if the front end is dinged up but the rear is straight, they'd sell 'em to me for as little as $5 (I've been going there for 15 years, though). It's not the Harley Bob's on university. They're on Elwood, in between 7th and 16th streets, just north of Broadway.

Yeah i have a random Yamaha tank that I'm going to chop up. And what I'm guessing is a cb750 tank which has so much rust and debris in it but the shape is perfect, all I need to do is get a gas cap, petcock valve and clean the inside. Then I'm going to nickle plate it and figure out a way to mount it on the 360, that'

I live in Tucson. Current ride is a '92 XJ 600 Seca II. Working on my '80 XS 650. Next will be the '77 KZ 650 custom. Regular attendee to Bike Night at Barrio Brewery.

Its been a while, but progress follows cash flow. just got my seat in, and rubber on the wheels. . But bike is heading to the upholsterer for the cushion, and then everything is off to paint after that. Just have to figure out what I'm going to do about all Tue wiring in my stock bars when I put my new bars on... Not looking forward to that mess. Electrical is not my strong suit.

Bikes almost done. I'm painting it this weekend. Then ill just need to rig up my rear lights and bars and I'm good to go!

X-Twin, do you have a link to your build?

I dont have a build thread. Ive been basically doing a little bit at a time when I can afford to. I'm painting it this Sunday on my day off. Then ive gotta do a little electrical tetris and move all my little electrical bits under the cowl with the battery.

Tucson checking in. Just got the '80 XS650 up. Working on a '77 KZ650. Also have a '92 XJ600 running well. Lots of great roads to run around over here

Hey fellas,

I'm returning to the States in June (East coast) and driving back to AZ in July. If anybody sees a deal on a potential project, especially near Prescott, please give me a shout.

Also, if anybody needs me to grab anything relatively small (bike parts, 6-pack of that microbrew you can't get in AZ, whatever) while I'm back East during that time, let me know, and I'll do my best.

Thanks,

Buzz

Hey, been lurking for a little bit but I'd love to meet some biking buds. I just got my first bike, a 1986 Nighthawk 450. Been working on getting it running well enough for long drives. I'm in the Cave Creek/North Scottsdale area.

Hey sauce. I'm between employ, but I'm down in Tempe with a(mostly) running CB360 project. (Waiting on employment to pick up a few key parts) I just got here a month ago, so I'm still a line wolf. I've got some shade and a wicked multimeter, but not much else as far as wrenching goes.

Nice! I am riding a 79 KZ650B as well as a 74 Yamaha TX500. The KZ has really grown on me. Awesome bikes.
