bacon jerky...holy shit

Coast to Coast
so im sure youre all like me, HUGE bacon fanatics. me and my coworker were wondering if bacon jerky existed, and after some googling, i came to this. www.baconjerky.com

theres 6 flavors, i bought the maple flavored bacon jerky.

it was $12 for 2 oz. that was only 5-6 slices, which at first i thought was really pricey, but i wanted to try it.

it arrived today with a hand written thank you note. I opened it up and me and james (piercer at our shop) gave it a try...

our eyes instantly lit up. it was probably the best thing i ever put in my mouth. the blend of maple and smoke and bacon was so perfect and i cant believe how god damn good it is. i suggest you guys try it.

i think out of all the flavors, maple would be the best, and peppered second. other ones just seem kinda like they dont belong with bacon.

Here's a way of cooking it and relieving stress at the same time:

I've discovered a new way of cooking bacon. All you need is: bacon, tin foil, some string, and.. oh whats it called?... oh yeah, an old worn out 7.62mm machinegun that is about to be discarded, and about 200 rounds of ammunition.

You start by wrapping the barrel in tin foil. Then you wrap bacon around it, and tie it down with some string.

you then wrap some more tin foil around it, and once again tie it down with string.

It is now ready to be inserted into the cooking device. I ripped the tin foil a little bit getting the barrel inserted. that part of the bacon got severely burned by hot gasses.

After just a few short bursts you should be able to smell the wonderful aroma of bacon.

I gave this about 250 rounds. but I think around 150 might actually be enough. But then again I don't mind when bacon is crispy. Ahh the smell of sizzling bacon mixed with the smell of gunpowder and weapon oil.

And the end result: Crispy delicious well done bacon.

Oh yeah! That's better than engine block hot dogs!!!!!

Ha thats funny. I have seen that bacon explosion sound good sounds unhealthy but hell I only get to live once. Do you really want to die before you eat bacon wrapped in sausage wrapped in bacon. I dont think so. Bacon jerky sounds great too. My bro has this excellent recipe for venison jerky. I would eat an entire deer in jerky.

i don't remember if it was good, but i did only have one bite so maybe that says something..

the maple bacon jerky sounds awesome, though.

on second thought, i think im gonna order a bacon explosion tomorrow, just to try..i mean, i ordered bacon jerky thinking it might be gross but it is SO GOOD! funky bacon products spark my interest.

that's the spirit!! let us know how it is! if you're still alive!

A guy at work always brings an awesome and simple bacon dish to the Christmas party: Lil' Smokies wrapped in bacon! We call them "Heart Attacks", but they are awesome.

i want some of that bacon jerky... maybe ill learn to make jerky =D

i make liver wrapped in bacon on occasion. super good.

easy...

im going to try it =D

Jerky is pretty easy to make. Even the kinds that you can make without a smoker are not too bad. I did a teriyaki elk jerky from last fall's elk that was simply amazing. Good luck
