So as a lot of you know I picked up a random BMW airhead on a whim and a tip from a guy I met at barbers. Turns out it was a titled 76 r90s. Score. It was missing a fair bit when I got it, but progress has been chugging on. So far I've built a new subframe, new seat, swapped tanks, started restoring the fairing, yanking stock wires, upgrading charging system, ignition, etc. etc. luckily it came with some goodies like koni shocks, progressive fork springs, boxerworks triple clamp, 1000cc jugs and big valve heads. This won't be a beautiful every part powdercoated bike, but it will be a mile eating dead nuts reliable bike. Thought if show you what I have been up to.
As she came:
On the lift and subframe started
Alloy front fender going in.
Rebuilt, coated, and refreshed front and rear calipers:
Overall progress shot with replaced tank, etc.
Harley rear tail/turn
Enduralast charging system
The fairing was broken in half when I got it. MANY hours later we have a primer coat
Heads are out for new valve seats and rebuilding, but they are the big valve 40/44 mm heads and they're dual plugged
Overall still chugging and waiting on parts. I'll keep ya in the loop!
