Re: Bridgestone M2/SS 200cc Motorcycle Restoration
I apologize for the delayed response Brothers, I have been trying to put into words what this restoration truly means to me however it is difficult to write. As always all of your kind words and support for the work that has been done on this build is truly inspiring to not only me personaly but to everyone who has been involved with returning this bike to her former glory! After we completed the La Pastinaca engine build with Brother Habanero he mentioned the possibility of working togethor again with him and Brother Casi on this Bridgestone and I must admit I was very excited to hear that we may be working togethor again as they are truly some of the finest people I have ever had the opportunity to work with.
Most of you know how passionate I am about DWMS Racing being a family and that dream has been realized ever since the beginning and it is a true blessing that our family continues to grow through loyalty, friendship, respect, and support for one another on a daily basis.
As for this Bridgestone as much hard work as I have put into her personally that is only a very small part of the entire family effort that we have all put into her togethor.
Brother casi has a beautiful vision for what he wanted for this build and it has been a breath of fresh air to be able to work within that vision togethor to bring it into reality as most people that I work with want a flawless finish and I truly believe that leaving the factory casting marks, the factory welds, and just enough patina here and there on the bike has given the Bridgestone a truly classic look that is more beautiful to me than any flawless finish could ever be. I also love the natural cast and lightly hand polished finishes on the aluminum better than the mirror finish we put on a lot of parts of other bikes. Not only does Brother casi have the beautiful vision that he wanted for this motorcycle but he and Brother Habanero have also both worked very hard to locate and acquire the finest parts available for the build as well as having all of the chrome replated, the upholstery work on the seat done, etc.
I have also been very fortunate to have help from all of my immediate family as well, my Father is here at the shop a couple times a week and has done a lot of work on the bike, my Mom watches all of the photos and constantly compliments and encourages us all, my Brother Jason did an absolutely beautiful paint job on all of the tins, my beautiful wife has helped me with the Bridgestone and she truly understands my creative passion and supports everything that I do, and my youngest Daughter who is a beautiful angel helped sand and polish pieces for the bike and did a lot of the work on the front fender so I have truly been able to spend quality time working with all of them on this build.
Our online family of Brothers and Sisters here on DTT as well as on facebook and other outlets that we have through DWMS Racing have all provided kind words, compliments, and support which truly means more to me than most of you know and has continued to provide me with the needed inspiration to keep working hard to improve the quality of the work that we do. We are all very thankful to have you here and honored to be members here as you are all very talented builders and honestly good people.
I love that we have all had a part in returning this Bridgestone to her former glory and that everyone has enjoyed the restoration, she has brought us all closer togethor as a family and I will always be grateful to her and to all of you for that.
Your Friend and Brother, Joe
