CAFE CREME - BOARD.....TRACKER

TJ,
Good to see you back on the project. I do question the sanity of NOS on that thing. It would go from dangerously fast to whatever the next category of ideas that fall into the category of just because you can doesn't mean you should. Stay healthy. Sanity is optional.

Thanx for your support Teazer.

It was a "just because I can" exercise, plus the fact that I had a spare NOS set up !!!

However, the smallest jets I can use would give +20bhp ..... the engine only makes 11 !!!!

So back to plan A [ or was it D or E ? ], it's going on the KZ750 twin Cafe Racer which was already set up for it including foggers fitted to the 40 DCOE Weber manifold I had made.

Sanity returns.

Now that sounds like a plan. One of these days, I will have to start listening to my own advice. Fortunately I haven't touched NOS ....yet.
;);)

Back to the carb set up, this time using an Amal Concentric instead of the SU. I'm now looking to go "big block" with a 250 !

So ..... the toxic [ and expensive ] divorce is over, I've had to sell my house of 40 years and split the proceeeds with my now ex. wife.

Life now goes on again after a 2 year hiatus. First off it's back on the Boardtracker as that is nearest to completion and directly accessible via my new 10' x 6' shed.

Moving along quite swiftly now as all the original dry build [ 'ish ] was completed. And YES, I did manage to do a deal on that "big block" 250cc Virago lump ! That's being collected in the next 2 months, but in the meantime the 125 has been completed and ready for installation.

2026 will be the year I will concentrate on the Glemseck KZ750 Cafe Racer .................. oh yes, in the meantme I bought myself a Reliant Scimitar GTE to play with !!!!

I was a bit nervous about attempting to roll the chassis plaque around the downtube, but it worked out fine.

If you're going to tell Porkies, best make sure they're good ones eh ?

Seriously, I'm well pleased with all the "fake" stuff to give the impression of a 1900's bike that never existed. Even got a 1937 Italian tax disc to photoshop.

Not sure what to do about the paint .... needs something ! I already started ageing the decals etc.

I should be getting my nickel plating and bright passivated parts back next week so I can start assembling the engine / frame. Moving along nicely now after all the dramas of the past 2 years !

The hand gerchange cross shaft and mountings all polished and clear coated.

Rear axle plates not finally fettled and primered - Celeste Blue to follow next week.

Really moving along now - the main frame and engine in one lump, just waiting for the lacquer to harden off on the rear frame before I attach that to the lump.

Very nice, man.. will have a roller soon! I forget which wheel/tire setup you chose for this one

Very nice, man.. will have a roller soon! I forget which wheel/tire setup you chose for this one

Thanx for the kind words ............... it's on it's wheels as of today !! Still loads of work to do including some of the bracketery, spacers, mounts etc I had to abandon 2 years ago whilst all the mayhem was going on.

Wheels are 21" . I had a 21" front from a Honda trailee of some sort and I modified the bottom of the Bantam fork legs to take the larger spindle. Rear was from an indeterminate Suzuki that I had relaced with a matching 21" rim. I had both wheels shot blasted and powder coated in light Ivory - fully assembled. I'm so happy now I can see a project that is beginning to look like a motocycle !

I'll post up some current pix in the next few days.

Have you had that engine running yet, BC?
The engine was taken from a running bike, however I've bought [ yet to be collected ] a "big block" motor ...... all 250ccs of it. Again from a good running bike, however I intend to give it a thorough once over as I already have gaskets etc for a strip down. Hoping I'll only need to end service.

Still plenty of jobs to complete .... I wasted 2 years whilst all the drama was going on around me.

Sounds good. WEll, press on, we're all anxious to see this little beastie doing its thing!

I'm glad the drama is done and that you are able to move on. Been there, done that, wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy!
