Cafe Racer Music?

How bout mike sarne's "just for kicks." Idk if anyone already mentioned it, but I didn't see it up. Cool tune.

Not rock 'n' roll but motorcycle for sure Richard Thompson - 52 Vincent Black Lightning. And then to 60s garage William the Wild One - (They Call Me) Willie The Wild One. And thanks Von Yinzer, the Social D song I had forgotten about, but all the others you posted are new to me and that does not happen often when it comes to rockabilly, I will hunt Billy Balls down (and that sounds a bit obscene).

Suicide - Ghost rider; The I think as yet but obvious Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild; from the I bet you weren't expecting this file Brigitte Bardot - Harley Davidson; and the Cheers - Black Denim Trousers and Motorcycle Boots.

.....................and a black leathe' jacket with an eagle on the back ;D

I try to stay away from the computer over the weekends by not having one at home and work was too busy yesterday but here's a few more motorcycle themed tunes:
Going back to 1936 (I think) George Formby - Riding In The TT; Jo-An Campbell - Motorcycle Michael (1961); The Storey Sisters - Bad Motorcycle (1958) (not the same song as She's A Bad Motorcycle by the Crestones mentioned in an earlier post); and lastly Robert Gordon - Too Fast To Live, Too Young To Die. Crazy PJ, I'm sure now everybody is heading out to buy eagles for their leather jackets.

Bit of a stretch, but there is talk of motorbikes. (And I really like this band for some reason... Haha)
My Life with the thrill Kill Kult - Starmartyr (13 Above the Night)

Lyrically not so much, but the vid is GREAT.
Reckless Ones "Dead & Gone" HD

The Slanderin - B.R.M.C.

Great tune that I forgot all about until RadioPaul mentioned the great Richard Thompson:
The Vincent Razorbacks ~ Big Black Shadow

Hillbilly Hellcats ~ Hillbilly Cats On Speed

Shitty audio, but great song...
Nekromantix- Motorpsycho

Thanks to everyone who has contributed on this post, I have gathered some good new motorcycle themed songs. I run KNND, an oldies radio station in Cottage Grove OR, and have kicked myself mostly off the air except for a selfish indulgence of an hour each Tuesday. In that hour I play nothing but obscure music from the 50s and 60s. I am going to compile all the motorcycle oriented songs into one show. We are getting close to starting to stream and this is a program I will not air until we are streaming. I will post on Do The Ton when in case any want to check it out.

Please do. I'd love to check it out, and Cottage Grove is a bit too far from Portland to get the signal.

I will keep you posted. At VonYinzer, really enjoyed your youtube posts, especially the Vincent Razorbacks, Something Wild and Huey and the Hobgoblins. At IndieSol, yeah Portland is a big stretch as we are only 1000 watts and we struggle to reach Eugene, just 20 miles north. I spot some tasty bikes every time I go to Portland. Really enjoyed The One Motorcycle Show this past winter, were you able to catch it?

Nice choice in music...however it fit best with 60's 70's british music, IMO. Pink Floyd, Bowie, Beach boys, everything in Summer in the Sixties album..

I'm confused, how do the Beach Boys fall into the category of British music? Clearly whatever music fuels ones motorcycle fire is probably met by ones general taste in music. Listening to Pink Floyd puts me to sleep, but that's just me and they could make another want to kick the engine over and go Do The Ton. I'm an old punk into rockabilly and garage so that is the music that I selected primarily on my list. That's why I didn't engage in the Billy Joel debate earlier in this topic. I don't like his music and think it is so far away from the roots that inspired, there's virtually no comparison. But once again, that's me, and clearly the guy digs motorcycles. Also there are many metal bands that have created motorcycle themed songs, but as the only metal band I care for is Motorhead, they are the only metal band that made my list. The one thing about all the songs I selected is that they all have a motorcycle theme. A list of just bands and songs I like in general would take days.

Yeah, I made it to "The One". I know a couple of guys who had bikes in the show, and my buddy just opened a motorcycle shop in the upstairs space where it was held. I really liked it. It was cool that it wasn't real stuffy, unridden bike kind of shit. Numerous burnouts indoors....smell of gas, burnt rubber, and belches full of PBR. That's what I call a good night.

Portland does indeed have a great vintage scene. I'm actually a couple minutes out of Portland, in Vancouver, but I just moved over here a bit over a year ago. I grew up in Portland though, and that's where all the good vintage bike shit is.

I snuck over to work for a bit of wrenching (my project is in the back storage warehouse area of the station, and I guess I actually didn't touch a wrench as I worked on wiring, but a bit of crimping doesn't sound as good) and thought I would check in here before heading home. VonYinzer, despite my huge love of the damned, I somehow missed Dave Vanian and the Phantom Chords. Cool sound, I'll definitely have to check out more. Thanks. IndieSol, totally agree that it was nice to see road grime on the bikes at that show. A bike that is rode is always more interesting to me. Really like some of the dirt bike cafe conversions and I think my favorite was a GPZ, although it made me realize the potential I wasted when I used to own one. I'm actually heading up to Portland tomorrow with my wife and kiddo for a few days R&R. Doubt I'll be doing any bike stuff, but who knows.
