"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Back in the day I remember talking to a shop mechanic and it took 8hrs to set valves on a cbx because they were older by then and all the guys were out of practice.

That thing does look to be in nice shape, but 5 grand is pretty steep, especially for a bike that's had it's carbs off for who-knows-how-long...

Rickman flat tracker, and a very good price. :)

The Suzuki / Rickman flat tracker has twin "Dekes" (decompression valves) on it - never saw that before (nor a Rickman tracker frame). Probably needs them though - the little Rickman rear brake would probably go away after 2 or 3 laps on a half mile. Had a deke on my CanaBul and much preferred it to the shitty rear disc for braking and setting up a corner.
Neat bike, great for vintage flat track.

Thanks for the info. I thought for 2K that seemed like a pretty solid little piece of history. Wonder why it needed those twin "Dekes"?? Solely to slow down?

Love those custom foot peg rubbers.

Hose clamps and tire tread boiiiii!

The guy got pissed in the comment section and said that is a fair price in the Australian market. Also bashed Americans because people were laughing at the asking price. In his words, "...reasonably priced for the market"....Brodie... Someone, anyone confirm or trash his statement please.

I've seen some real garbage go for a lot of cash in Australia. I wouldn't be surprised if he got $5000 out of it.

I'd go about $350 on it.

very cool t500 tracker 2k is a steel
bak in the day,the flat track racers loved to use the compression releases on the 2 strokes they would just rev the bike in nuetral in the pits and hit the release over and over and over making a huge cloud of smoke and all kinds of noise
most of the flat trackers back then were hopped up on whites, crosstops .......so this kept them amused :)
they also would use the release in entrance to a corner to set up the slide

Clean, but $6500?? Hate the ironing board seat. And as XB always say, looks like the rear tire is going to smash the seat pan when you hit a bump.

Price dropped by a grand after some razzing here.

Still so over priced.

Maybe it will make it easier for this guy to sell his bike.

At least this drag queen will not have the rear tire slam into the frame....

The "no title" thing is just funny.....

look at the clevis extensions on the rear shocks and the swingarm angle, now we also see no slack in the chain, it must be magic !! or the idiot does'nt understand what is happening
with that much swingarm angle you cannot get by without a spring loaded chain tensioner like we used to use on early long travel dirtbikes
with that much swinger angle and as far away from the swinger pivot the cs sprocket is, at full droop you gonna have a diaperlode of chain slack

^^^^^^^^, he's talking bollocks.....the australian market is, to say the least, resistant to customising anything with the possible exception of harleys. small jap bikes aren't now and never have been worth serious money (unless totally bog stock or restored )
customised bikes (again, especially small jap) have always been hard to shift and you can kiss goodbye to any money you've put into it

true, the hipster market might be up for this bike but they're also notoriously tight fisted

and for $6k you can buy an awful lot more bike than a GSX250, that'll get you a single cam CB750 or for that matter a Vmax or even early Hayabusa.......
