Worth it?? I have a front end that I could swap on, but should I be wary of a bent frame? I want to check it out this afternoon.

Damn, I'd be interested in looking at that if I weren't at the Pate Swap Meet at Texas Motor Speedway, and it weren't in Crime Bluff.

Re: "Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Good to know. I figure I'll look for any damage at the neck and if it looks fine I'll swap the new front end on it and measure for straightness after that.

Exactly. Check for cracks and signs of paint peeling etc. Easiest to check without forks as long as the swingarm is straight. Use the pivot as a datum and see if the steering head is vertical or at least in a vertical plane when the swingarm pivot is dead nuts horizontal.

You can also measure the rear wheel position in the swingarm to be 110% sure it is straight and correctly aligned and get it vertical and see if the swingarm pivot is horizontal. At that point, the steering head should be perfectly vertically aligned with the rear wheel.

A jig and set of lasers would be better but this isn't rocket science and you will be straightening the frame by twisting it like a stick of gum. Just push or pull it back into place and of course it has to be pushed past the right point to allow it to spring back.

"Unfortunately the bike was involved in a small collision in a parking lot..." I can't imagine what happened. Bike fell over and then a truck ran over it? I hate parking lots.

Had a stroke, cant ride anymore.... will accept trades. http://bham.craigslist.org/mcy/5005591176.html

No pic because he doesn't need help selling it.

No he said "pics upon request" I think it's Harley dude pride, he doesn't want his buddies seeing his Hawg for sale on the list. ;) He got the HD finace deal of a lifetime, they will give you a loan for a bike with an additional amount for "accessories" and people just cant resist the Willie G effect!! LOL. I got mine with tons of blackout stuff as a shop show bike and only paid for the parts... no labor, It just sat on the floor for a week

I might be way off base here but I have seen that just like in the quad community, thousands in add on aftermarket accessories adds exactly $0.00 to the resale value of a used Harley. Its usually better to put it back stock and sell the after markets parts by themselves. I have seen a much better return that way.

This one isnt a craigslist, just a guy I went to high school with. Eek

I asked him if he cut his forks springs and this was his reply

"no i didnt cut them incase i wanna put them back in...even more scary , i just took them out and loaded them them up really good with oil...i have about an inch of travel...but its just a town bike....gotta watch out for them hard corners and pot holes......i just cant stand the look of it when its five inches taller"

Same is true with most a-market stuff... you never get the bling money back no mater how hard you sell it... Harleys, Dirtbikes, Sleds, Boats, guns... well guns have been holding good lately but you know what I mean.
