Yep, my gt250 had been wrecked by my brother in law years back (during the rebuild I have still been finding a few "tweaked parts") and I vowed then that few will ever ride my stuff again. That said, ol ridesolo is one of the few that has un questionable access to the keys to anything I own. The way I figure it, a guy that can ride from Alaska to the Midwest and back on a bike in a few weeks, was a military MC safety instructor, and president of the North America Honda riding association (hope I didn't butcher that to bad Cory) is welcome to ride anything with a motor of mine he wants.

If i were a lesser man i'd say something really obscene about where the itch actually came from, but i'm not so, you win.

Wow, kind words, dude... Actually not sure I'd ever really ask, just ribbin' ya. (and that was former Membership Director of the Honda Sport Touring Association.) All of that stuff now seems like it was long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away. Hell, I'll probably scare myself on that old Rupp when I get it going!

Asking price is real life, selling price is something completely different. Listing ended with no sale. That bike is not worth the asking price let alone what the PO paid and put into it. God only nows how bad it was when he paid $6k before putting another $1500 into. Some people just don't know how to spend money wisely. Matte Black is hardly what I would call "custom paint" and it's already chipping off after less than a year and 400 miles.

Read the packages that resulted in that ebay bike. $6500 For the cheapest package if you provide a mechanically sound cb550 donor bike. They do the cosmetic changes, and a simple tune up. Not even a gasket change. Wow.

You mean how cool would that bike look with me standing next to it. ;D I see $1500 max in mods on that $6500 package that raves about performance upgrades. I see a pipe, maybe an upgrade and pod filters, which is a downgrade. I don't see any performance upgrades that would make it more powerful than the stock bike.
