"Cafe Racer" such a loose term! Craigslist "Gem" of the week!

Buying causes serious distraction.
Tell me about it. Though, my main irritation at the moment, I took a wheel with a sprocket carrier in it that a day was spent on machining, to have a tire pulled off of it at a shop, they "lost" the sprocket carrier. So, here I now have a freshly painted frame I have to put things on and take them off time and time again to get this thing right.

He wants $150 for the bike its apparently just torn down to the carbs and platics and coils everything else is apparently on the bike. its a 1986 Honda VF500. He said it needs 2 new coils and he has all the plastic so plus there no idea as to the shape of the plastics, for this price I may buy it just to wait to rebuild it later. And a bill of sale.... would you go for it?

be wary if it has a lot of miles they are a fun sweet lil bike run around at 10 grand all day but one that has been poorly engine maintained is scrap if gone too far neglected
pull the front valve cover and have a lookie
look at the oil is there water innit look at the water oi in it ? or is the rad rusty/corroded inside .13 years ago,on another planet, i rode one daily for transpo after 56 days in the hole, great fun reliable bike with a beautiful sound,i paid 125 at a yardsale fer mine, put 4 or 600 innit for all the stuff it needed and put 10k on the clock

if the motor is scrapped is it possible to get another one for cheap? and I hear these are awesome bikes. I also heard that parts can be a pain to come by I hope it doesn't need much of anything. And that tank isn't stock what is it (the tank)? and is it worth the 150$ if the motor is scrapped?

the VF500 never had much problems with cams or cranks destroying themselves...pull the valve covers off anyway and have a look.

i bought a 84 750F and the engine was total junk..pitted cams, pitted crank...

it looks like the stock tank but so did the one on the 700/750 this is an ideal machine for spares its worth 150 for sure in parts i mean you could sell a good set of carbs for 150 easy
but if you really want a 500 interceptor (and i highly recomend it i miss mine it was fun to ride) the best case is find another one, have 2 of them and make a great bike from the 2 ,once you get a good running machine and are happy then cherry pick some keeper spares and sell off bits

You know if you don't want it you should share this with INTERCEPTOR here, we's building a two stroke in VF500 frame and could use a shit ton of these parts and sell of the rest to recover.

Wait, he wants to park it in the living room yet he rides it to work every day? Hmm I doubt that.

kind of curious why can't i find anything on this bike?
1974 honda AB360
http://fresno.craigslist.org/mcy/4996665040.html
is it rare or something or is it titled wrong and is most likely a cb360?

3 grand? And add another to the add clubmans and take off the rear fender and presto! Café racer! Bonus: "café LEDs" and "café bar end mirrors." At least he kept the stock stuff to go with the sale.

haha other than adding an e-ignition and clip ons, that is basically my bikes. ill have to make sure i dont label them as "cafe racers" on craigslist so i dont get a bunch of shit on here. maybe "slightly modded" or "streamlined" i think clip-ons are....more cafe....than clubmans?

Still listed.
And no one has grabbed it?
REALLY want some of those parts
