Erskine, It is def going to be interesting. I just got the new to me XR400 headlight in, too. Trying to figure out a way to install it right now. Think I have it figured out though. :)

Curious why the left shock is reversed? Interference of some sort? Are those shocks adjustable since there is a reservoir?

Yes, There is interference. They have to be pointed forward like the left one. They don't have any adjustments except for the preload. Somehow I have to make them rigid, because I want to use the rear pegs as my new peg location. I was thinking about filling them totally with hyd. oil and then there would be no room for movement. Not sure if that is possible, but there are two set screws I can take out to change the oil. We'll see.

I got the tires in last week and finally had time to install them.

Gas tank is off being painted (white with orange and blues stripes) along with the rear mud guard (white). I finally found my fuel cap that was misplaced and I'll be ordering some parts soon to finish this project.

Nice tires! I got a set of k761s for my tracker build too, nicest 80/20 enduro tire I could find for the money, well see how they wear though, lol.

Thanks for the replies guys. Finding enough time to do the things I want to do just isn't going to happen right now. I can do little things and that makes me feel just as good.
I can't comment on the tires right now because I have no road time with them. They seem to fit the part, and I believe the price was more than fair.
I am working on the placement of the footpegs right now. Staying with the theme of working with what I have laying around, I had a set of GT380 front footpegs that I have mounted in place, but still need to do some work to finalize them. This saves me alot of money that I was going to spend on rearsets, allows me to utilize the shocks I have on there now, I really like the position of them and they are big enough to hold my 11.5 boot. All bonus' in my book.

Mockup is complete and frame is painted. I'll let it sit over the weekend and dry totally, then start to clean some parts and put back together :)

I can't really tell you the size of the loop, but it came off the donor bike I bought (Yamaha DT175).

I have made some progress but have no pictures to prove it :) Engine has been painted and installed in bike, put rear brake light and battery tray in place, installed gauge cluster, cleaned and installed the wiring harness, installed headlight and trimmed the front wind deflector, installed right side controls, painted the forks black, took off the outer fork springs, painted a few other odds and ends and I had to relocate the exhaust to the other side. I'll post some pics tomorrow of the progress ;)

Tank is still being held hostage. Should be done this week though.

Better hurry! Riding season is starting to dwindle around here. Got about another month left. 40ish this morning...

This. I called it quits and moved my bike into the basement for a full tear down. Then again, who says you cant ride in 30 degree weather?

As long as there is no snow, I will ride :)
Here are some pics of my progress:

In this picture, you'll see my solution for the carb. Bent tubing is a radiator hose.

I had a clearance issue with the chain cover when I had the reservoir on the bottom. Solution- have them on top. I really don't hink it's a functional reservoir, just there for looks.

Just rebuilt the carb today, got the front and rear sprockets in (+2 in the rear) and fuel cap gasket installed.
Thats all for now.

I haven't gotten anything done in awhile, still waiting for my tank from the painter. Geez, 4 months. Meanwhile, I took the same style tank off my other bike and cleaned the inside. While I had it off I put it on the CB100 to see what it looks like with the seat I'm making. I think it looks pretty good:

Since my last post, I installed the original shocks, installed another headlight, and took off the gauges. On an added bonus, I put some gas in the carb and got it running today. One step closer.
