CB175 Cafe Buildup - The beginnings of something... small.

I actually really like the slab sided look of this tank. It should fit awesome with the Roc City Bonneville seat as well.

As far as the red on the pipes, they came that way, and I wasn't sure I'd like it. Turns out, it should look good with the filters and red highlights on the paint.

Nice build so far. I almost went with the same pipes on my 175.

What size UNI filter did you go with (model number if you have it)? I've been considering getting a couple for my 175 build, but the frame clearance is so low, I wasn't sure if they would fit. Is it a tight squeeze getting them on the carbs?

Model # UP4125AST

Popped right on. It hits the frame, but it seems like it'll be fine. I was able to tighten it down without any drama. I got them from Amazon, $17 each free shipping.

I used the same ones on my girlfriend's CB200. It's a tight fit but they fit properly.

Thanks for the info. I curious if using the UNI filters will require re-jetting.

Yes, pods will lean out your AF ratio. So, upjet one size on the slow and main jets, roughly. Then, tune your idle with the air screw and idle screw.

Good to know! Know I have to get new jets.

Called Roc City, I guess my seat is finished up and ready to be shipped out in the next day or so. Pretty stoked for it to be on the way!

My new title showed up today. I must admit, the Utah DMV is absolutely amazing. I had to do almost zero legwork to get a new title for this bike. It hadn't been registered in years, and the last 3 or so owners never even had titles for it. I filled out a few really simple forms, had the VIN inspected by a licensed inspector (cost me a few beers while we hung out and talked about the bike), and sent off the packet. They requested a check for the title and tax, sent it out and they had the title to me in a few days. No search fee, no fuss. They did all the research, and got me a brand new clean title, no branding or bond necessary. Total time from start to finish was probably 2.5 weeks. I've waited longer to get a normal title after registering a vehicle in Nevada.

When I had to register the 750 for the first time, it literally was a 5 minute trip. And this is in Salt Lake City, at one of only 2 DMV locations in the county, so for all intents and purposes, it should be busy. It just never is. I think the big difference between them and most other states is that they separate vehicle matters and licensing into two separate entities inside the DMV, with two different buildings. So, the things that take a long time (drivers licenses, etc) are kept in their own section, while registration and titling are in a whole different building, which is staffed to the gills. Makes the process super quick. It's such a welcome change of pace from most other DMV experiences. I'll have to snap a pic when I go to register the 175.

Got my NOS parts from Honda. New petcock, carb gaskets, tank mounting rubber, and a few other small pieces. Also got to ride a brand new NC700X with the DCT flappy paddle transmission. I think I'm in love...

Hey Booligan, hadnt seen this build of yours, looking really good. when you get it done we will have to go rally the little bikes!!

Bracket chopped, bent, and drilled for the left side pipe. Still need to repeat it for the right side. I'll probably end up chopping a little bit more off of the top of the bracket while I'm at it. I also got the electrics reconnected, and am picking up a battery for it tomorrow. Theoretically, I could have it riding around the block, albeit without a seat, lol. If nothing else, I'll be replumbing the fuel delivery, just need to pick up my little fuel filters.

I also was having a throttle dragging issue, figured out it was because of a slight misalignment between the throttle tube and control housing. Smoothed it out a bit and it snaps back perfectly now.

Let me tell you, I love the wiring on this damn thing. There's like 15 wires and they're all properly color coded. Makes the job MUCH easier.

Good call, I might end up doing that today. I'm doing the clean-up and paint on the rear of the frame today, as well as picking up a sealed battery to mount up to my little battery tray. I'll also be making a strap hold-down system to keep the battery from flopping around.

My seat also arrived in SLC. Won't be delivered until Monday though :(

I got the battery wired in, and built another shelf for the rest of the electronics to sit underneath the seat. Changed out the oil and got it fired up again. I'm having issues getting fuel down through the petcock, filters, and into the carbs. I think I just need more fuel in the tank to force it down through the slight twists and turns in the fuel system. That being said, I was able to get it running again, and once I get the battery strapped down, I'm going to try and take it for a quick spin around the block.

It sounds awesome with the new pipes by the way.
