Re: CB175 Racer

First thing to do was clean it up, change the oil, and replace the stripped screws and bolts. Managed to break off a bolt extractor in a stripped bolt...that really complicated things.

Re: CB175 Racer

Center stand pulled and kick stand installed. Center stand comes in handy on occasion and is easy to install/remove.

Great bike! Love the muffler set up.
Thanks treitz! I'm really happy how it turned out. The local muffler shop was really patient with me and my welding requests. I really need to pick up a welder for my next project.

Re: CB175 Racer Build

Brackets welded. An iced coffee on a hot day gets you pretty far at the local muffler shop. I have the go ahead to bring a 6-pack by next time ;D

Goodbye mounting tabs

Threw on a coat of high temp paint and got to wrapping. Not the best picture but it was late and my arms where itching something awful. I forgot to wear my gloves. I suggest wearing a biohazard suit when working with this stuff....

Next on the checklist is addressing a slight oil leak low on the left crankcase cover and a leaky petcock. Seems these showed up after the kickstand was installed. Probably has something to do with the angle.

Has anyone had any luck with making gaskets with silicone?

Re: CB175 Racer Build

I look at silicone as a last resort/emergency gasket material. It may fix an oil leak for a short time, but eventually it deteriorates.
