How did you finish the rims (paint or PC)? How did you remove the chrome?

the rims are powdercoated satin black. they sandblasted the rim before pcoating it....i'm not sure if thats abrasive enough to remove the chrome though?

thanks to N8 for donating his old carb manifolds.

looking at getting some VM20's soon to attach them to.

tonight we finally got round to addressing the clutch/brake cable problem.

apparently somewhere in melb is the only place that makes/ modifies cables?

so we thought we'd give it a crack ourselves.

cut up the existing cable, bought some brass rod ends.

measure twice. cut once. shove wire through. peen end. dip in solder. nek minet.
problem solved.

worked awesome but.

next up. fit headlight and indicators.

Hey, loving the look of your bike so far.
Where did you get the rims from, I'm looking for a new set for my cb200.
Doesn't seem to be many parts for these in aus, everything I've ordered so far is from the us.
Keen to see this one finished, might pinch some ideas for my build :D
Cheers

Heya Jim, we actually bought a new chrome set but sold them and decided to powder coat the original rims satin black.

I can't remember where we bought the new rims but it was an eBay seller.

You used a cable for the rear brake? What did you use for cable stops on the rear brake cable?

For my rear brake cable, I used the clutch cable stop from a cb100 and the normal cable adjuster from the levers.

No, we used some steel rod that we bent to dogleg around the right strut and connects the brake to the rear set.

Goods times with the guys. i'm envious! Great project and I wish we were neighbors. An extra hand and/or head with my CB200 project would be awesome sometime.

Keep up the fantastic job, fellas!

Heads up,
you will probably have noticed that carbs on a CB175/200 have mounting holes that are NOT on the bore centerline. Carbs usually are made with mounting holes right on line, so the manifolds or carbs (or both) will need to be modified in all probability.

whats up fella's????

this little beast still being built??
or is it chugging down the road??

peace

More updates soon, we've all been bogged down with life but looking to jump back into it as we have a bunch of parts to fit :D

mocked up the exhaust today and took stock of what we need to do to make it work.
flipped the gear linkage to get more clearance and we'll need to remake one of the rods.
also most likely need to get our existing headers reworked to allow for a larger curve so the midpipe that we'll get made meets the header and muffler easily.

I can't tell from the pics, but are you using the stock controls? I'm trying to locate the right side control housing for my girlfriend's 200. So if you got it and would want to sell just let me know.

sorry bud. had a look through our spare parts bin and looks like we ditched the controls a long time ago:(
