CB350 Built by a teen (Weld Now, Grind Later)

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (Rotor drilled! Moving along nicely...)

pressed the bearings into the cb360 front wheel. and then i realized.... im out of things to do wihout more parts.

i would say this concludes dissasembly/cleaning. all that is left is paint and reassembly. only thing i can really think of that needs to be done before paint is the swingarm bushings.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

still waiting on parts... my K0/k1 (1968 =D) head is on its way...

my father called me randomly a couple days ago telling me that he wants me to just order parts already... i dont know why...

got my debit card/checking account! and 5 fat paychecks into it! (haha, was nice coming home to four weeks of paychecks! (forgot to collect em before i left). paypal is certified now.

fun fact... i would guess my expenses to have been around 2500 or so... cuz the work feels like it would be that much.

its actually 1050 bucks, give or take 20 bucks. added up all my paypal receipts, and only spent about 100 dollars on material OFF the web. one year, 1050 dollars. i can live with that... my next orders will be around 1700 more, so less then 4500 dollars total (guessing random expenses along the way) for a totally custom, one off bike, that is KICK ASS. i can EASILY live with that.

also... i now have a couple hundred (if not thousands) of feet of wire... multiple colors (that are different from what i got from AD pete! SWEET!), and some striped. high quality stuff thats less then 10 years old. was used in the elevator (wire for controls etc) in the building my father works in. was going in the trash, so i kept it.

the other parts, such as the shaft and cable, i had wanted to sell as scrap (easily 500 bucks worth of scrap!) but my father wasnt up to bringing it to the junk yard (bastard).

oh well... i cant complain.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

you should use one of the elevator buttons for your starter. if you have a starter. just pick a number that you like. it would light up and everything.

I would say he doesn't want to apologise for what happened last week but does want to get things back to a semblance of normality and it's his way of opening up a dialog.

You need to apologise to him.

There may be other reasons he won't take scrap to junkyard, all you see is what you want, try looking at 'the big picture'

"oh well... i cant complain."

stop complaining then, life is easier now than it will be in future

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

no starter... elevator button would have been genius though.

i would have used B... we lived downstairs. =D

all is well with the dad now...

the head is on its way... dumb seller took 6 days to send it.

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

shit... i just realized...

my sister went to college right... well, she took her camera with her.

guess ill be dropping 300 bucks on a new camera... (found a good deal on a nikon D70 at least! should be great quality pictures to come... just wish it didnt take so much out of my budget).

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

i have ruined over 5 cameras in the shop bud, get a cheepo digital for in there, will work fine and cost like 30 bucks!

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

I good camera is a valuable asset and worth the investment. Just keep it in the bag and handle it with gloves if your hands are all fucked up

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

i do have a very old olympus c-2500 that can take DECENT shots.. only problem is it sucks in low lighting and my shop is in a basement. plus id need to get a new CF card for it.

im sure a good camera would be fine in the basement... i wash my hands before grabbing the camera and always keep it cased.

Or step into the new millenium and get a cell phone. :D

While an expensive camera is nice, i say get a cheap one now. We have 2 digital cameras - mine (5 years old and stays in a zip lock bag in the garage) and hers (the clean one that we use for everything else)

I went from my old brick like nokia to a razr, and have only gone through 1 razr over the past... 5 years. it cracked, so i have another.

this september i may be getting the new iPhone... just maybe. when it comes down to it, there are only a few times a year when i wish my phone was more capable.

Which is exactly why a good camera shouldn't live in the garage. Seriously, ANY digital camera nowadays is good enough to post photos on a forum ;)

Re: CB350 Built by a teen (K0 cam and rockers anyone?)

I have no interest in a cell phones, if someone want's me, they can find me.
If it wasn't important enough for that, it wasn't important.
I was on call 24/7 for 2 years though, cell phones are a drag
