CB360 - Monoshock Brat

I looked to see your location. Cali, So probably not much chance Im gonna get to see this bike at Barber this fall.

I looks really nice, exhaust looks great. I am currently struggling with how I am going to pattern my exhaust. Inspiring!!

Just read the whole thread. Great to see it finished and props to the DTT community for all of the help offered

Well, I guess no project is ever really done. After riding about 120 miles to Born Free and back on Saturday my first order of business was to make a more comfortable seat. The thin little potato chip, however cool I thought it looked, just didn't cut it at freeway speeds.

I started with a cardboard template, cut the seat pan out of pine, then some foam matting for the bulk of the padding. I'm channeling out the area so the seat fits snugly over top of the shock...so coming in contact with it will never be an issue. I think I'll try to bevel the top edge to it's not sharp. I've contacted the guy who did my first seat cover to see if he's willing to make one off a template for me again.

This should also put me in a bit higher riding position. With me being 6'1" this should make things more comfortable.

Some pics from Born Free 5 if anyone is interested...

I don't know what the foam is called but you can find it at Home Depot. They're large interlocking puzzle pieces for floor like this....

No fenders though, so most of the terrain will be thrown up. mostly on you.

Looks tough, appearance is excellent.

Don't run through any puddles....

Not to mention the beating those pods are going to take if it's gets in tough terrain... I'd fit a splash guard on the swing arm at least. I prefer a front fender too... even a small one, just something on the engine side of the forks. At least he's got a fork brace.
