Cb360 - slow speed 'twitchiness' on turn in.

Sderbyshire

Into Sailing, classic Triumph cars and motorbikes.
Following the axle spacer and stuck float valve incidents the little Honda 360 Cafe is running great.

However I'm experiencing a slight 'twitch' when turning into a slow corner/junction.

Bike is fine at speeds over about 40mpy but at 15-20 mph there is an instant of instability upon initial turn in.

It feels like something is loose, but it's not.

Front end of the bike is rebuilt with new bearings, rebuilt standard forks which are lowered about half an inch.

Twitchiness present turning left or right.

Any suggestions as to the cause, could the slight lowering be the cause?

I've not removed/rebuilt the swing arm or the rear shocks, could this cause the issue if pivot bearings shot?

Regards

Steve

Thanks Mathias

I've tried pulling the rear wheel side to side when it's off the ground on the centre stand, doesn't seem to have any play in it?

Steering stem nut? Can make a difference if it was originally torqued on the ground or if front wheel was elevated.

Check you don't have a cable catching on steering stop or front of tank.
At higher speeds you wouldn't notice it as you don't use as much steering input.
Check tyre pressures
Check fork operation (too much oil?)
You may also need to adjust bearings now they have bedded in ( why new bikes used to need a 500mile service)

Tire pressure is my recommendation, too.

In my original setup, I raised the rear end about an inch, using new shocks, and didn't like the feel at all. Possible that the lowering of the front could have a similar effect.

When you say "lowered" do you mean you actually lowered them internally or raised them in the triple trees?
If you raised them in the trees this could be making it more twitchy but I would think it would possibly be worse at higher speeds.
