So I've picked up some goodies for this build. I like to test everything we sell so I'll give a review of it all.

M-unit to simplify wiring. Acts as fuse box and controller for signals

This will simplify wire from controls to m-unit. Wire this in at the front of the bike and then a single wire to m-unit.

Went with these brackets so I can run the stock gsxr damper

This is a special project Cognito Moto has been working on for weeks directly with FOX. We will soon be offering the Podium R and Podium RC1 for these vintage Japanese motorcycles. The first sets will be arrive later today and we will be trying them out on this build.

Things are looking good! I like the shocks too. If the price is right I might pick up a set for my kz.

I love the moto gadget wiring but it's pricey stuff. It's not so bad when you are building one bike. But when you are building more than one it adds up.

So the tank came back from paint yesterday and I couldn't resist doing a mock up. I feel that the headlight will need to move it but I kept the dampener. I'll mess with it more today.

Man what an awesome build. I like that you are able to design and create your own solutions/modifications. Everything looks fantastic, you have some serious talent and a good eye for making things functional and aesthetically pleasing at the same time. Keep it up.

Stance and exhaust placement is gorgeous. Your builds somehow bring a style never seen before and stand out from all the rest IMO.

That exhaust looks fantastic. How did you mate the 2? I can't see any clamps...

I still need to do that too. I'll throw a band clamp on it

G'day mate,

Long time subscriber, reader and admirer. I've been meaning to post for a while now however, put frankly you've just left me speechless! Your attention for detail is a gift, your logic and rationality shows in design, whilst your creativeness blossoms and becomes reality. I hope you know how great of a talent you have, your hand eye co-ordination and personal standard for your work is what sets you apart from sheepish crowd. You mate, are what we Australians call an 'Ideas Man!' 8) However my word for you is.. 'bloody legend!' Thumbs up mate. You have given me the most amazing read of your journey, and put simply a awesome desktop wallpaper!

In regards to your bracket I've noticed they are not yet up for sale yet on your site. How do I get my hands on one and what would postage be like to Australia? The indicater tabs idea was pure genious, and the fitment of the brake light and plate position to the curvature of seat is pure finesse, leaving behind a visual of pure sex.

Keep the updates and photos coming you bloody legend.

P.S. - I hope you don't mind me using a picture of your bike on my thread as inspiration. I apoligize and will remove if not the case.

Cheers

Detto

Hey Devin I know you're a busy man these days but I have never seen any decent instructions on how to bench sync the round top keihin carbs like you hwve on your most recent 750. I am going to need to do mine soon and can't find a good primer to show how to do one with just the slides and no butterfly's

Detto,

Whoa!!! Thank you very much. It nice to know people enjoy what I'm doing and hopefully take something away from my builds. It's what motivates me to continue to post these builds.

I will be testing the fitment then make a batch of these tag plates. Should be about a month before they are available.

Feel free to use whatever you would like. I will be framing your post.

You basically get a small drill bit (like 1/8" I forget the size) and use it as a feeler gauge. This will get you semi close and allow you to sync them properly once the bike is running. A proper sync is highly recommended. It makes the bike feel a lot smoother.

Hey man, saw some picks of your bikes at HandBuilt. I love the way Tsuma came together - great work!

Quick question...when you bead blast cast aluminum, like your carbs for example, do you add a protectant to the surface to prevent rust or do you even see that being a problem?

On one of my bikes I bead blasted the cases and covers but painted them to avoid rust , assuming I needed to do so. If not, I'll just leave the surface bare if a protectant isn't needed. Thanks!!

No I don't. I usually powder over everything but gas gets on stuff and I feel that at with the bare aluminum I can scrub it again and make it look good vs removing paint and such if gas gets on it and eats the paint.
