I'm curious. No as in never thought about it, or no as in thought about it and decided not to for reason x. ?

It's crossed my mind but never executed or put much thought into it. The up tube is a really big gusset.

Woah, did you ultrasonic these or bead blast?

Bead blast then clean the $hit out of them. Make sure all the bead is gone. Then did the rebuild kits

Very nice. I can imagine many post bead blast baths were involved.

basically what you have now is a glass bead injected injun
there is no way you can flush all the beads out of those carbs, dude you didn't even plug the air passages ?

It's not glass bead injection. All ports have been thoroughly cleaned.

that is my point(basically that blasting them all together as you did was a very foolish thing to do) you can't clean them of the beads without removing all the brass and the blocks at the ends of the intersecting drilled passages and then you would have to physically ream with an instrument
there is cavities and dead end passages inside that have trapped beads

So I've picked up some goodies for this build. I like to test everything we sell so I'll give a review of it all.

M-unit to simplify wiring. Acts as fuse box and controller for signals

This will simplify wire from controls to m-unit. Wire this in at the front of the bike and then a single wire to m-unit.

This is a special project Cognito Moto has been working on for weeks directly with FOX. We will soon be offering the Podium R and Podium RC1 for these vintage Japanese motorcycles. The first sets will be arrive later today and we will be trying them out on this build.

Sweet. As for the bead issue, it is true you can't be 100% sure you got all the grit, I would suggest soda in the future as it will completely dissolve in H2O after and nor worries about it going into a port and wearing out your piston, rings, sleeves etc. That M-Unit and extras is awsome. spendy but awsome
