Sketched this in Photoshop about half way into the build. I'm sure things will change along the way.
Check out whats done so far.

Fuel sight off to the left. Won't stick into you while hugging the huge tank. easy to glance at while rippin' it.

Stocker tank had kneedents...but they didn't stand out enough for me.
a mix off hammers and post working. (wish I would have used some nice planishing hammers)

Slim Seat: Drew a CAD file, then plasma CNC cut in 18gauge Steel. mega time saver.
add ~0.75" Foam and sew up a read leather saddle.

I normally hate the sloping tank on the CX500's but your photoshop makes it work. Hope it looks that good when you get R done

Your PS skills are sick. Did you use a Wacom plate to sketch on top of an excisting photo?
Have thought about doing the same style of fuel gauge, let us know how the pipe holds up.

Will deffinetly be following this one. :)

-Thanks, but not a plate.... A Wacom Cintiq 21ux (sketching is my job, so it's nice to hear good responses!: )

-the tube is fuel safe, the bigger problem area may be the compression fittings. I just hated how all the hose/fuel clamps looked.

You know.. with your set of skills you can machine the front forks down so they don't stick out from the top.
Just saw a post it being done at the cx500 forum.

And by the way it's coming out very nice! Definately going to be a good example next to wrenchmonkees cx500 and the one from motomucci.

Thanks Jaak, I've loved both of those builds! I hope to carve my own path with:
-super slim 2up seat
-keeping the #3 plate going from my other build (match the rainy day M3 and A3-s)
-split horizon paint scheme inspired by a few of 60s/70's CB's.

Still debating what to do with the signals (or if I want to run them) I prefer hand signals.
But, MotoMucci lead me to this awesome switch... Might have to machine my own.

New front brake line TBD...probably clear braid/gold fitting:

wsfull-339.jpg

ToDo List, off the top of my head.
-New Throttle
-Shorten all cables, new barrels
-Fab headlight brackets, sick of seeing all the stamped metal around.
-Rear controls and Pegs... for two?
-Re-Build Shocks (new piggyback rears)
-U-bar to brace seat pan, tucked underneath out of sight.
-Strip everything and powdercoat frame.
-Freshen up engine.
-Wiring....OH THE AGONY!!!!
...stopping the list, need to go ride the 750.
