Tried 2 different Electronic relays. I may wire in 2 of the old signals and see if it makes things flash. I was tracing the wiring diagram to see how everything is connected and I noticed that I have a different handlebar control than stock, it's honda but from a different bike so I need to see if any of the wires run different. I am also wondering is the running light circuit is causing any grief.

I had the same issue with electronic flashers and found the only way around it was to get an LED specific flasher. I've got LED's front to back and apparently the current draw isn't high enough to trigger the relay, even in some electronic types.
I'll look into this. I thought the one my father in law picked up was LED spec but may not have been. they are cheap enough I can try Napa and grab a new one.

I had a similar issue on my MB5, hate wiring so I just put a regular set of indicators in the rear. Not the best way to fix the issue but just wanted to finish with the wiring. I'll be following to see if you find the correct solution.
Re: CX500 minor bob job - Now Missing parts, of course
like the others have said, its probably just the relay. Had the sam issue with my signals and it ended up being the relay even though it said it was for LEDs
Re: CX500 minor bob job - Wiring almost done and paint colours coming next.
I will take a look at the number on the relay, I know its a Tridon and I got it at Canadian Tire, but I am not in the vicinity of my bike for another couple of hours........so it will be a little bit
you said you had different controls?? Show me a pic of your left hand control

Thanks, I am away from bike until 5 your time anyway. I can get a pic but it looks like any honda horn, signal, hi/lo control. the wire colours are wrong coming out compared to wire diagram, the horn should be B B and it is W/lg and lg. Also one of the other wires for the signal is diff colour but I think it all goes to the right pins in the plug inside the bucket.

Cool, thanks guys, I went to Napa and they wanted 26 for it, so I went to CT and they had the EP34's for 14.99 so I grabbed one. We'll see tonight if it fixes the issue.

Yeah the LED version of the EP-34 is $10 more here. Hope it works for you. I purchased 3 EP34 flashers before I realized I needed a EP34 LED specific flasher. The normal EP34 will work for a lot of people, especially if they are running incandescent bulbs on their indicators, but a full LED job, you'll likely need one that is load independent.

The CT one has LED on it so I hope it works, If not, I will return it. They have a great return policy. I'll go to the US Napa and pay 16.99 instead of 26.99 here. I looked it up at the Napa in Maine 10 bucks less same damn part. Oh yeah and Napa here had to order it in, didn't have it in stock.
Re: CX500 minor bob job - Wiring almost done and paint colours coming next.
I note the EP-34L because it does not need a minimum load to trigger. A lot of the other flashers, even though they are sold as LED are not load independant. In a lot of situations they will still work fine because their require load is low enough that they will trigger, but not all..
Re: CX500 minor bob job - Wiring almost done and paint colours coming next.
Had that problem, it said it was for LEDs but didnt flash just buzzed like crazy and almost set on fire!. Traced all my wiring, tested all the circuits and came back to the flasher, went and got the EP34 (it may have been the L model) and connected it, everything worked beautifully.
