jP!ll, why is this the first time I have seen your bike? ??? Looks like a C model. Checked you posts and can't find a build thread anywhere... Where did you get the rear sets and linkages?

joined the forum half way through and never got around to it i guess. i might put up a little timeline at some point. its the 79 limited edition, picked it up at the end of august and have to be done in 2 weeks. i think its one of those things thatll never really be done done though

rear sets and linkages came from the guys over at DCC, they're great!

Damn, now I remember it was a LTD. The Commies threw me off, what about those rear sets?

Got the rear sets and Clip-ons on. Ordered new gauges and a couple other odds and ends today. Need to find some led's for indicator lights. If you have any good rescouces it woudl be appreciated. Dime city has some but they only have 3 colors I need 4 and would like them al to match.

I took mine out for a 20 mile shakedown today. 45 degrees and drizzling the whole time, I'm frozen!

rocketritch

i'm coming down to the end of this bike, and i love your brake light
where might I source one? just considering options for lights that would mount in that same fashion and be DOT approved.

thanks all, very good motivation in here
look forward to my build thread... finishing up and documenting in the next month or so. ready to shake the poser feeling :3

Just bought this baby and pick it up next week. $700 with a few carb issues and grinding starter motor. Can't wait to rip into her!

hey everyone I just signed up for this forum, and am really stoked to see others that are making some really nice looking dohcs. pretty much final mock up without the exhaust before paint

I love the angles on the tank/seat man. And the engine has seen some love! Welcome, welcome...

An update on mine, this is the end look for this season.

is that a mac exhaust? yours looks like a fun and functional ride, is the fender actually functional at all other than bracing?

Yeah, it's a Mac 4-1 kit. Bolted right on and it isn't too high profile so I can still put my girl on. The front fender won't save me from much :( but as I'm pretty new to riding I just don't ride through anything but dry street right now. At the end of the season I'll be visiting a welder/fabricator to have some better custom stuff designed.

do you like the way the mac performs/sounds? I have a mac 4-2-1 but I haven't fired up the bike yet so I don't know what to expect other than the fact that it is like 10 lbs lighter. I tired running no fender once, i will never make that mistake again. What carbs are you running?

Probably better just give you a link to the build hahah! They're Mikuni BST36SS carbs from an oil cooled GSXR-750, still CV but less limiting and waaaay lighter than the stock buggers.

I can't pass judgment on the Mac kit because I never ran it before this exhaust... I junked what came with the bike before it ran.

My 79 redone but not done.
